Seeing as Fred seemed to approve of the house itself, I went through with the purchase. The keys are handed over to me, and I am an official home owner. Well, one that is seriously indebted to Draco Malfoy. A fact I'm choosing to make the most of.
As promised, I make an appointment with St. Mungo's fertility office. That Friday, the third of September at nine thirty in the morning. I glance down at the calendar on my desk and realize that all of the Hogwarts students are aboard the train right now. It feels unreal that the last time I was on that train was three years ago.
On the floor, Teddy lets out a loud shout, throwing a block at Mia's head. She manages to duck, turning to scold her nephew.
"Now, now, Teddy. Gentle hands. We do not throw things at your Auntie Mia." She gives him a stern look, and he sticks out his lower lip in a pout. "Oh, come on kid."
"No." The toddler says, maintaining his pout.
"No?"
"No!" He repeats, stomping his little foot.
"Edward." I warn, my tone of voice finally getting through to him. He turns and ambles to the corner to continue his pouting session there. He crawls underneath the brightly colored plastic slide, pulling a blanket over his head for optimum sulking.
"At least he isn't throwing things anymore." I sigh, running a hand over my tired face.
"Yeah, thanks for that." Mia chuckles.
I return to the large stack of papers in front of me. The Wizengamot had a lot to say about my proposed changes to the Veela regulations. Unfortunately most of them were in the opposite direction of what I am trying to achieve. One of the proposals was to simply make being Veela illegal. As if it were crime.
That one when straight into the pile for cauldron kindling.

I take off the whole morning of the third, deciding that I'll probably need some processing time regardless of how the appointment goes. Still at Andromeda's until all the inspections on the house are finished, I finish feeding Teddy and prepare him for a day with Mrs. Weasley. She's been asking to see him, and this seems like a good opportunity.
After a quick floo trip to drop him off, I apparate to the street in front of St. Mungos. I climb the steps and stand in line at the registration desk. The two wizards in front of me get sorted, and I'm called up next.
"Hello. Name and date of birth?" The woman asks, shifting through her papers.
"Hazel Taylor, October Sixth, Nineteen Seventy Seven." I rattle off automatically.
"Hmmm. I'm not seeing anything under Taylor." She frowns, looking through the stack once more.
"Sorry. Uh. Carrow. Try Carrow." I correct myself, hating that I do this every time.
"Oh! Here you are!" She smiles warmly as she pulls out my paper. "You'll be in Dr. Felding's office. Head up to the third floor and take the left hand corridor all the way down."
"Thank you." I reach down to grab Teddy's hand, but then realize he's at the Burrow. I shove my hands in my pockets to hide my blunder and hurry off to the stairs. I make it to the correct office five minutes early and sign in there as well.
I'm told to take a seat in the waiting area, and turn to find an empty space. Instead I am greeted by a very familiar chest.
"Fred? What are you doing here?" I look at the man in surprise.
