Despite the emotional turmoil in my personal life, the Wizangamot waits for no one. Things become more and more stressful as they begin to catch on to just how much I'm trying to change. The day after Mia and I make our presentation to completely ban the breeding applications for part veela and other "half-breeds," I find myself on the front cover of the profit.
"War Traitor Hazel Carrow on a Rampage Against Our Safety! - Written by Rita Skeeter
The wife of the recently deceased Death Eater, Amycus Carrow, has been fighting tooth and nail to remove the restrictions on beasts and half-breeds that protects wizards and muggles alike. Is it a remnant of a plan from her former love? Or perhaps she's just looking after herself since her own name appeared on the Werewolf Registry. Regardless of the reason, if she were to succeed, it may very well mean the end of our peaceful lives as we know them."
I toss the paper into the bin, and return my focus to Teddy. We've been living in the new house for over a week now, but the place is still absolute chaos. Currently, the little tot is screaming about the fact that I haven't been able to find his favorite blue plate. Apparently he cannot eat his waffles without it.
"I'm sorry, baby." I plead with him. "It's all gone. Mama can't find it."
"No!" He screeches smacking his hands on the tray in front of him. "Boo pate!"
"What about this nice green plate? It's my favorite, but I'll let you use it." Fred slides up behind me with said plate.
"Geen pate!" Teddy yells, motioning for Fred to give it over.
"It's so unfair." I grumble, giving up and letting Fred take over.
"Take this as an opportunity to get a second cup of coffee." Fred offers, gently nudging me towards the kitchen.
"Honestly, a brilliant idea." I go and pour myself another mug, watching my two boys interact. If they end up being the whole of my little family, I think I could be content with it.

Another moon passes, and this batch of "wolf's brain" as Mia jokingly calls my potion, is the best yet. At this point, all but two of the oldest and most stubborn wolves are taking it. The screams were very few after the initial transformation. I am both proud and furious.
It's taken me mere months to make these changes. Why hasn't anyone done anything until now? Even if this was the extent that the ministry allowed, at least these people would be returning to their families in one piece every month.
My twenty second birthday arrives, and with it, a very exciting letter. When it arrives, I squeal excitedly and nearly knock Mia out of her chair with the force of my hug.
"He's ready!" I shout, releasing her.
"Who's ready?" She asks, unsure what is going on.
"Harry said the storm is tonight!" I bounce around the office, grabbing everything we would need to finish the process. He had finished the leaf process at the last full moon, but until the electrical storm came, everything was put on pause.
"Merlin! I can't believe it! Do you need me to watch Teddy for you?"
"Draco was planning on coming to watch him, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind help." I wink at Mia. She laughs, rolling her eyes.
"Count me in." She returns to her work, her cheeks tinged pink.

The rest of the day flew by in a rush of presents and preparations. My favorite gift would have to, by far, be the broom that the entire Weasley clan pooled to bye. It's been forever since I have flown, and the considerate gift brought tears to my eyes.
"We have to make sure that we've got enough for two full teams at holidays." Charlie had joked when Molly presented it to me. Honestly, they were pretty close to that mark. Especially since Draco and Mia keep popping up at more and more Weasley family events. It made me so happy to see him finally getting the family he deserves.
When the sun starts to set, and thunder rumbles on the horizon, Draco and Mia take Teddy and floo back to my house. Fred stays at the Burrow in case we need anything while Ginny and I help Harry with his first transformation.
We wait outside in a clearing in the woods by the Burrow as the clouds grow nearer and nearer. Harry is bouncing with excitement and Ginny is chewing her lip nervously. I try to feel confident in the meticulous work we've put it. It's a bit difficult in the moment though. Finally, the storm reaches us, and it is time.
Harry holds the vial of blood red liquid in one hand, in the other he clutches his wand. He points the wand at himself and flawlessly recites the incantation we've practiced over and over. The moment he's done, he downs the liquid.
Ginny and I hold our breath.
There's a long pause.
I didn't work.
What if we mess up Harry?
Suddenly, Harry let's out a loud yelp and falls dramatically to the ground. Ginny starts to go to him, but I hold her back.
"Give him a minute." I whisper, cringing as Harry twists on the grass. And then, quickly, so much more quickly than my own transformations, he changes.
"Wow, what a surprise." Ginny says sarcastically as he climbs shakily to his hooves. Just like his father, Harry Potter is a stag. He prances around a bit, getting a feel for his new form. He pauses in front of his girlfriend, posing for her rather majestically.
"We get it Potter." She huffs, rolling her eyes. Harry snorts, turning his nose away from her. "Fine. You are a very handsome stag, love."
Harry turns back around and licks Ginny across the face, much to her disgust.
"Gross Harry." She whines, wiping the spit off with her sleeve. Harry stands in front of her for a moment before morphing back into his human form.
"I'm very handsome, huh?" He leans in, nose nearly brushing with Ginny's.
"Shove it." The girl snaps, pushing Harry back a step.
"Too late! You can't take it back!" He hollers before taking off into the trees, turning back into a stag halfway. We watch him disappear into the foliage,
"As much as I hate to admit," Ginny sighs, "that was pretty cool."
"Yeah, seems like he's quite the natural at it."
"He always is. A bit annoying honestly." Ginny hooks her arm through mine and we start to make our way back to the house. "So, when are you and Fred getting married?"
"Ginny!" I gasp, blushing.
"What? You guys have a house and a kid. Seems like marriage is the next step." She shrugs.
"I don't know." I admit quietly. "He proposed a while back, but we weren't ready. I'm not quite sure if we are now."
"How much of a difference would it really make though?" Ginny questions. "You already live together and raise Teddy together. And this way you'd finally get to be a Weasley by name. Ditch the creep's name."
I stay silent, pondering her words.
Things have been getting better. He tells me things now. He finished his sessions with Jenna, or is it Jenny? I can never remember. He's been seeing a mind healer on his own, and so have I. Next week we have our first appointment with one together to work through our feelings on the whole fertility front.
Would becoming his wife really be that much of a jump?
I would have to ask him later.
