Dear Rocket,

If you're reading this, I know you're already safe with Ramones and telling you that I'm happy would be an understatement. I don't want to make this any longer for I know that Louis raised you to be a strong and independent woman like how I want you to be. Please forgive Louis for making you believe that he turned his back on you. It was my fault for asking him to take care of you and train you to be an agent. It was my decision to make you infiltrate the La Cosa Nostra thinking that you'll be much safer in that place than in the outside.

I want to start by apologizing to you for leaving you so early, my dear. There are things that you wouldn't understand as a child, that's why your mother and I didn't tell you anything. Kassandra is such a strong woman to protect you and your sister Kayla. You wouldn't be the person that you are right now if it wasn't because of your mother. She was raised to be a strong person by your grandfather and though you didn't get to meet your grandparents, I know how much they love you.

Before anything else, I want you to know everything about your mother.

Your mother grew up in Sicily, under the family Genovese. She was a Sicilian noble with family businesses around Italy and being in a wealthy family, they have connections around the country and the closest one that they have was the Marchesi family. The Marchesi were one of the most powerful families in Sicily around that time. They own half of the Sicilian provinces and some cities in Italy but one thing that your mother knows is that they were dangerous. The Marchesi family is one of the members of Union, or as the nobles know, the Five family mafia. The Genovese were told to give thirty-five percent of their business earnings to the La Cosa Nostra, a criminal organization lead by the head of Marchesi family, Vaughn Marchesi and if they fail to do so, death is the only option that they have.

Your grandfather did everything to avoid the threat that their family received from La Cosa Nostra. It was the only thing that he could do to protect your mother, the only child of Genovese family. One thing that Kassandra learned from her parents is to see the beauty in all the ruined things surrounding her. She taught me that too and it was the most beautiful lesson I learned from someone important to me.

The day her father gave the due money to the La Cosa Nostra, she met someone that changed her life forever. How your mother described him was, he is fragile. He was quiet and aloof. Kind, thoughtful and he made her happy. He was someone that she thought she'd wanted to protect at that time. They became friends. She always goes with her father so she can see him and talk to him. Until it became a thing that seeing him was the best part of her week. She fell in love.

It felt like it was meant to be, and Kassandra told me that nothing can be compared to the love that they have for each other. They were inseparable. She knew she'd marry him. She liked calling his name as she read that his name meant faithful and true. He never lied to her. He said he loved her and she believed it. Your mother's love for him was endless and it was real. But Kassandra didn't know that his name also meant another thing—the devil.

On October 13th of 1989, it was a rainy Friday, your mother was married to the first child of the Marchesi family, Amon Venerdi Marchesi and they had two beautiful children named Elena and Amalia Marchesi or as I know them, Kayla and Rocket.

Rocket, I know it's confusing to you right now and I'm sorry for not being present to explain it to you better but please know that your mother and I didn't want you to know any of these before to protect you. Your mother wanted you to live a normal life, far from what she had witnessed under living the same roof as your father. Kassandra never wanted any of these to happen to you while you're growing up. She wants you to live in peace and happiness.

Your father had changed at a drastic speed. Kassandra didn't understand how the same person can be different in just a matter of time. Amon became a monster, that's how your mother described him a few years after they got married. He started killing random people and eventually killed his father, his associates, and your grandfather as well. He started hurting Kassandra and even threatened to kill you and Kayla. He became different—it was as though Kassandra was living with another person. He was not the faithful and true Amon that your mother met before but instead he became the devil.

It wasn't in my tab to meet your mother before, Rocket. I had my own mission at that time and taking some stranger under my care isn't the best idea that I have. I thought she was just a random wife of a mafia boss but it turned out that she'll become a very important ally in my journey to hunt down the most powerful criminal organization at that time.

Your mother fed me with evidence against your father, who was later called "East" by most of the organizations around Italy. She gave me an access to the files that only East can enter and gave me recordings of all the conversation that he had with his associates before he killed his father and the bosses of the Union, in which they called the boss of all bosses.

Before running out of time, she managed to escape her husband and fled to my protection. We changed you and your sister's identity thinking that we can protect you with that. We both know that there will be a time that everything is going to be game over and that was the time that your mother feared the most. But we are both ignorant. We underestimated what your father could do and before we knew it, it was already too late.

And the death of your sister was a message to the both of us.

I'm sorry for not being able to protect Kayla. I'm sorry for thinking that being with me is the safest option that we have. Kayla was innocent, she didn't know anything. Your sister was lured by East. She believed East. Your mother and I didn't know that East was contacting her. We didn't know that she was having a conversation with your father behind our back and when we discovered it, we were already at the bottom of the pit. I was already too late. She was gone and I blame myself for letting it happen.

Rocket, to all the things that I wrote in this letter, apologizing to you is the first thing I'd do if we ever meet again someday. Please remember that you'll always be my daughter and I love you so much. I'm sorry for leaving you all the evidence in your hand right now and giving you the right to decide on how you'll use them. I want you to continue the mission that I left, Rocket.

Trust the people that you think can help you. Discard all the people that you think will slow you down and protect the people you care about that you'd be willing to throw even your own life.

You, Rocket Marchesi, daughter of Amon and Kassandra Marchesi is the rightful heir to the La Cosa Nostra.

Everything is up to your decision now. If you ever ran into a corner just remember to stop, think, and decide. I believe in you.

Always with you,

Raoul Guevarra
