CHAPTER SEVENTY-THREE
"WE HAVE A PROBLEM," Giorgio said while walking towards Rocket. He placed a bunch of files on the table and sat across from her, his face frowning and his eyebrows furrowed. "The bank statements of East were all locked, from his personal accounts and down to the illegal accounts he had made in other countries couldn't be accessed."
"And?" Rocket raised a brow. "Why would it be my problem?"
"It means that we wouldn't be able to transfer it to you...for a while. I already contacted my friends who can do such magic like taking those money from East's account and wiring it to your account but it's not going to be easy."
Rocket sighed. Sa tono ni Giorgio nang pumasok ito sa kinaroroonan niya ay tila napakabigat na problema ang dala nito. "I wouldn't even call it a problem," she answered and gazed back to the laptop on her lap. "The bigger problem that we have is this is taking too long, Giorgio. What are we even still doing here in France?"
"Bella, I'm still preparing because I don't want to lose any resources from our side or worse, get you hurt. I'm a very specific person Rocket, and East isn't an easy enemy especially now that he sided with the Russians. I can't take his silence for granted, all right?"
"I don't understand," she gazed back at him. "You guys are calling yourselves boss of bosses for nothing?"
Giorgio chuckled. "I'm not a God, my love, I can't just make miracle and order someone to kill East without getting any casualties." He said. "I admire you for being so frank to me. I know we're stalling and believe me when I say that I am not liking it as well, but I need you safe, Rocket, not just you but everyone on my side."
"I need to know everything." She said.
"The spy that we sent to Russia was killed by them, we're now going blind because of it but the last information that we got before we lose contact was East is heading to another country...the Philippines."
Sa narinig ay biglang kinabahan si Rocket. "Does Regan know?"
Umiling ang lalaki. "I'll tell him today, but I can't make sure that he's still going to listen to me. I know how he cares for his family that he even went through begging us for the sake of their safety, but I needed Regan here. I can't let him make decisions on his own."
"He," she paused and looked away. "Regan wouldn't talk to me." She whispers the last words.
"I called Ramones and he'll be here anytime soon." Giorgio answered before standing up. "I have to make final preparations, so I'll leave you for now." He said and leaned towards her to give her a kiss on the head. "If you need me, I'll be in the office."
Pinanood lamang ni Rocket ang lalaki na lumabas sa silid na kinaroroonan niya. Isang lingo na din ang nakalipas mula nang dalhin siya ni Giorgio sa safe house nito sa bansang France at ilang araw na din ang nakalipas mula noong may nangyari sa kanilang dalawa ni Regan.
Hanggang ngayon ay hindi pa din siya kinakausap ng lalaki. She knows that he's just around the massive house and she knows that Regan was avoiding her all this time. Rocket wanted to talk to him about the past, she wanted to ask him about her parents' last moments alive and if he remembers even a single thing about her sister, but he's making everything harder than it already is.
Natawa siya. Para bang siya ngayon ay lalaki at tinataguan siya ng babaeng nakasiping niya dahil sa ginagawa ni Regan sa kanya. How dare him make her feel this way. Kaya naman dali-dali niyang isinara ang laptop na hawak bago siya nagmartya palabas ng kuwarto at pinuntahan ang nagi-isang lugar na alam niyang kinaroroonan ng lalaki.
