Namjoon was so frustrated sitting in his studio. It's this last song....my album is almost finished "he thought" it's just this last song....the lyrics are just not coming.
Jimin came by his studio and looked at Namjoon "Why all the frustration?"
"AHHHHHHH" Namjoon shouted and barried his face in his hands. "This is so frustrating, I'm trying to write these lyrics to my song 'Closer'" he said
"Can I see?" Jimin asked
"Ugh" Namjoon said and handed him his notebook "It's far from finished you know. It's embarrassing...4 years I have been working on this album, and this last song is killing me and Bang PD has given me a deadline. I just don't know how to finish this up..I'm stuck".
"Namjoon??" Jimin said while reading the lyrics." Are these lyrics about the girl in Vegas?"
"What?...Noooo" Namjoon said embarrassed and tried to dismiss the question.
"Liar" Jimin said. "Look, I don't know what you are going through, but everyone told me you went to Sieun's house and it is already kinda official.... but not yet official that you guys are going to make it official when you come back from the military?" He looked Namjoon deep in the eyes "Why are you still making songs about a girl you only met once or twice. Cause I know you guys are not speaking to each other at al.....right? Namjoon, don't torture yourself please".
"How do you know?" Namjoon asked and looked at Jimin with a sadness in his eyes.
"Look, better forget about what you can't have...OK. Better focus on what is in front of you".
Namjoon shook his head "You know Jimin, it might not make any sense to you...but this song...although frustrating..I have to finish it".
"Suit yourself" Jimin said. At that point Paul Blanco walked into the studio. "Heyyyyy Jiminnn, my man" he said and they did their little hand shake.
"Jimin...we have work to do..sorry" Namjoon said.
Jimin understood that it was time for him to go, he smiled and left...while saying "Don't waste your time, on things you can't have!' and he walked out.
"She is not a thing!!" Namjoon shouted back at him.
"She??? Who is not a thing?" Paul asked confused.
Namjoon sat down and gave Paul a very serious look ..he almost seemed desperate but he trusted Paul. This was a very vulnerable moment for Namjoon.. if he wanted this song to work, he had to be very open and genuine about his feelings..the pain that he was feeling for the past few weeks...and the longing for a person that he could never have. This girl, who wanted nothing to do with him. He had to tell Paul all about his feelings and trust that it won't bite him back in the ass.
"look Paul this song that I have in mind... I need to tell you all the details so you know what and how I feel. Please do not laugh at me....Please... this song needs to be finished by tomorrow morning... and I want every word to be meaningful, based on all of what I'm going to tell and show you .." Namjoon said a bit embarrassed and hesitant.
He handed over his phone with all the messages he had exchanged with the girl he met in Vegas. He sat down in the corner of his studio and started to bite his nails nervously. Something he had not done in years.
Paul took the phone but hesitated, he had never seen Namjoon like this and gave the phone back. "Look...Hey" Paul said.. "I will not judge you, but you don't need to show me this". Paul understood that it must be hard for Namjoon to show something so personal. People judged Namjoon all the time. Some would take advantage of this situation, take all this info about Namjoon and sell it to the paparazzi. But Paul was not that kind of friend. He genuinely cared about Namjoon and understood that it was not easy and the weight that Namjoon carried on his shoulder sometimes.
"No" Namjoon said "You are the only one I can trust with this. If we are going to make this song together, I need you to understand what I am going through... Please read the text messages...I will tell you the rest and how my mom is trying to set me up with someone else too. I just feel very lost at the moment, but this song needs to be done right and it is important to me. He held is phone in front of Paul...Please take it and read... here you go!"
