Ever since Namjoon set foot in his kindergarten, he saw Sieun right away. Sieun stood out, she was one of the tallest girls in the class and she was super smart. Sieun was the popular one, however, Sieun was the bully of the class.
She would often pull Namjoon's hair and call him names that were just not nice. Sieun was good at pretending. Pretending to be good. Teachers and parents loved her. Everyone would say that she is a super friendly girl, so beautiful, so smart.
Perhaps she was all of the above, but she was not kind. That is what Namjoon remembered of her. As they grew older, Sieun would be going to the same middle school and high school as Namjoon. She would continue to bully him and many others.
Ever since a young age, Namjoon showed interest in rapping. He would sometimes go to some of the underground parties, and Sieun would be there. Somehow she always showed up when he had a performance or rap battle, and she would stare at him...which sometimes made him very uncomfortable.
Sieun, loved by all the elderly and everyone in the class wanted to be her friend. Even though she was a bully.
He remembered when he just entered high school, he wanted to rap so badly and his parents were kind of against it at first. Then he met Bang PD and together they gathered their courage to ask his parents for permission to rap and to pursue a career in forming a boy band.
His father was indecisive about the whole thing. His mother was very reluctant. "What if you become famous, then what?" She turned to Bang PD "Will my son have a change of a normal living a normal live? Will he be able to have a family, a wife, and kids?
Bang PD saw that Namjoon's mom was starting to panic. 'Look" Bang PD said, "I believe in your son. However, I don't know if he is going to be so famous to a point where he can't meet his match and get married and have children. I'm sure it will happen some day.
"That's not good enough for me" Namjoon's mother said. "I believe my son can become a global superstar, but I will not allow it for him to not enjoy a family on his own. Besides, I want grand children too.
"Mom"... Namjoon kinda felt uncomfortable with this situation."Mom, we can't look into the future.
"Namjoon" his mom said, we might not be able to look into the future. But we can set up your future, so that you will not miss out on the opportunity of having your own family one day. I know a perfect match for you. Tomorrow I will talk to the family of the girl. "MOM" Namjoon shouted..."I don't"
"Shhhh, Namjoon" his mom told him to be quiet. She then turned to Bang PD. "I will give you both the opportunity to pursue this, under one condition" You have about 10 years, by that time Namjoon will go into the military. After that it will be time for him to get married. If he still has a career after marriage, that is up to him and his wife". But this is the only way, I will allow it" she said with a very serious and firm voice.
"Mom...I" she turned to Namjoon. "Namjoon, you are still so young. I know a family is not what you have on your mind right now. But trust me, I know what fame can do to people. It will make you lonely and I do not want you to end up alone. Also when you are famous, you need people in your life that you can trust. Choosing a wife for you right now, would be the best way. At least we will know they want you for you, not because you are famous.
"Mom" Namjoon tried again. "I don't even know if I will get famous, why are we talking about things so seriously, can't we just go with the flow and see what happens?".
"No" his mom said. "I know you have the potential to become big my son. I had visions of you taking up the world by a storm. My fear is only that..that you will end up alone. You deserve to have people in your life that love you for you".
She looked at both and said very firmly: 10 years, that's it and I will talk to the girl's family tomorrow or Namjoon will continue school as usual and become something else.
Namjoon and Bang PD looked at each other. They wanted this so badly and Namjoon knew that his mom would not budge. He had seen that look of negotiation before on her face. Actually there was no room for negotiation when she turned this way. That day, they both agreed. Namjoon did not even bother to ask who the girl was that his mom had in mind. In fact his mind wasn't about girls at all. All he wanted was rapping and form a group with some other guys at the moment. So he thought whatever made her happy to get her permission to go with Bang PD and do what he knew best.
It was only later that he found out that Sieun's parents agreed to this 10 year plan. Namjoon started yawning thinking of all of this. He felt very sleepy "Gosh, I guess I will find out tomorrow" he thought and fell in a deep sleep.
