A Visit From Ms. Zhang

It has been a week since Yuan was released from the hospital. She was sore every time she shifted position, Ani and Bai were furiously doing research. Trying to find a portal that connects Earth and Kaasaam, but to no avail.

 Ani was worried sick about Beth. whatever charm she placed upon him was powerful. He was completely obsessed with trying to reach her. Yuan felt powerless to help, her feelings for Ani are growing stronger everyday. Her heart beats faster everytime he looks her way, and when he smiles at her she cannot breathe. 

But alas! As long as he is under her spell, he will never be hers. The one person who definitely knows how to break the spell is Ani's mother, but Yuan has no way to contact her.

There was a knock on the door, and a voice sounded from the hallway. "Girls!! I need to speak with you all!!", Oh shit!! It was Mrs. Zhang

"I need to get dressed, hold on one minute", she proceeded to tidy up the room. When she was satisfied that there was nothing incriminating she opened the door. "Oh, hi Mrs. Zhang! I didn't know it was you"

"Oh dear! How are you feeling? Terrible business, the authorities cannot even locate this Captain Guo. What a mess their department is in"

"I am a little better each day"

"Doing your schoolwork might help you forget the pain dear"

"Yes Mrs Zhang"

"Where are your roommates? Just because I have given you leeway on your assignments, because of your situation. Doesn't mean they can be negligent about their schooling."

"I will inform them of your displeasure Mrs Zhang"

"The best way to focus is by keeping a strict schedule, the more schoolwork, the less trouble you can get yourself into"

"Absolutely Mrs Zhang, can I ask you a question, for some research Bai and I are working on?"

"Certainly dear"

"Okay, we are doing project on mythology, and connections to other realms. Where in the world would be the likely places for these portals?"

"I am glad you came to me for this, off hand there are a few places. The Bermuda Triangle, Mount Olympus, Tibet. There is also a hypothesis about convergent ley lines."

"Do any of them have any connection with fire?"

"Yes, now that you mention it, in Turkmenistan near the village of Darvaza. There is a pit of continuously burning fire. They call it charmingly, the gates of hell!"

"Oh that is interesting!"

"Hmmmm, but that site does not have any myth associated with it. Perhaps Yanartas in Turkey, the locals call it the Mountain of Fire. It is believed the legend of the Chimera began there. The King of Lycia sent Bellerophon to slay it. He flew there on his horse pegasus, but decided to spare the creature "

"Wow, that sounds promising, how long will it take to travel there?"

"Travel there?"

"Oh not me, a friend. Thank you for all your help Ms. Zhang!!!" She impulsively hugged her teacher. After Ms Zhang left, Bai and Ani returned. Yuan was so excited she could not contain herself. "I have something important to tell you!!" But before she could continue Bai interrupted her.

"I have information about Captain Guo, you are not going to believe this!!!"
