The sky was cerulean blue with fluffy white clouds, meandering their way to wherever clouds go. The air had a winter crispness to it, the taste of frosty freshness on your tongue. As the little boy breathed the vapour could be seen. "Mama look! I am making clouds!"

"Yes sweetie"

"Mama, will they join their friends in the sky?"

"Yes sweetie"

"Mama, if I breathe fast enough can I make it snow?"

"You can certainly try, let me help you, but you need to close your eyes first"

Both mother and child breathed in and out rapidly, in between giggles.

"I think I see something in the sky!" She pick up a handful of snow, "it's snowing!!" and tossed it into the boys ruddy face. She proceeded to tickle him as he squirmed on the snow. There was a crack of thunder, he wiggled free of her grasp and sprang to his feet.

"Mama!!! catch me!!!" There was a sudden flash of lightning. It knocked him down again, while he was prone, a vulture with a bloody beak landed on his chest. "Mama!"He cried out looking frantically for her, she was lying in the snow motionless. There was blood everywhere, he began to cry, the vulture began to peck at his forehead. Too soft too soft too soft.....

His head was pounding with a terrible headache, when he tried to touch his forehead he became aware that he couldn't move his arm

His head was pounding with a terrible headache, when he tried to touch his forehead he became aware that he couldn't move his arm. He felt the jostling of the wagon, and he could vaguely hear Maurice singing to himself "? Ooh ooh ooh I wanna be like you you you, I wanna walk like you, talk like you, I wanna be like you. You'll see it's true, an ape like me me me, can learn to be, human too too too?"

Again there was pain in his head, or rather on his head. He opened his eyes, the source of the pain was a white lizard with a parrot like beak. It studied him inquisitively then resumed its excavation. "Maurice! get this thing off of me!!!"

Maurice's laughter made it difficult to respond, "I have been shooing those little buggers away all day. They are determined to open your mind up to new ideas ooh ooh ooh" , he almost fell out of his seat laughing at his clever joke.

"Maurice! I am going to kill you...."His protestations were cut short as his lizard tormentor defecated in his mouth.
