TOPIC: Your friend wants to go to a party but his/her sibling wouldn't lend him/her clothes.
*FCE Writing Task
Hi [friend's name],
Thank you for writing! It was lovely to hear from you again. So sorry I couldn't get back to you sooner!
Going to that party sounds like great fun, doesn't it? I wouldn't miss out on it if I were you! I'm sure you won't regret going, take my word for it! I'm truly sorry to hear about your problem, though. It does sound very frustrating... Sometimes, a little compassion and understanding are all we need, right? Why don't you talk it out with your sister/brother? If you get your point across clearly, I doubt he'd/she'd refuse to help. Then, you could ask him/her politely to lend you his/her clothes. The worst-case scenario would be having to buy a new outfit, I guess. Doesn't sound that bad, now, does it?
Anyway, hope I could help. I'm sure you two will figure things out and find the right outfit for the party! I'm sure you'll have a blast at the party, whatever happens! Don't forget to let me in on your news!
Take care
