Mobile Phones: A Blessing or a Curse?
We all cannot imagine life without a mobile phone, can we? On the one hand, some claim it can save lives, whilst on the other, many state it could cost you yours, instead.
Without a doubt, there are many advantages to owning a mobile phone. To begin with, you can contact someone 24/7 as services and apps are at your disposal to use whenever you like. Hence, you can help people during emergencies. In addition, mobile phones allow you to keep in touch with people since free messaging and calling apps are widely available. Therefore, you can hold on to bonds with people, regardless of the distance.
However, no one can deny the disadvantages that come with having a mobile phone. Firstly, one can end up being too dependent on this device, due to overuse. As a result, you get addicted and cannot draw the line. What's more, your health could be at risk, as it has been proven they cause brain damage and emit harmful radiation.
To conclude, although mobile phones make communication possible, they deprive you of all independence and critical thinking skills. In my view, the perks of owning a phone outnumber the disadvantages if they are used in moderation.
