TOPIC: Running your city's yearly marathon.
[city]'s Yearly Marathon of [year]
I recently had the opportunity to run [city]'s yearly marathon, along with many other citizens. It all took place last Friday, starting at [location]. We ran down the entire seafront, which took about 3 hours and was all worth it, as we were all running to collect money for those who need it.
The first thing to mention is the location itself. It took place at the heart of the city and was an accessible starting point for all. We actually ran in a straight line, which made it easy for most to follow up. Of course, the atmosphere was quite light-hearted and positive. It goes without saying that there was a huge and rather loud crowd. Believe it or not, it seemed that we were all united for the same cause!
Most importantly, what I deemed to be incredibly impressive was the consideration everybody had towards the financially unstable. We felt we were contributing to something big and were all driven by genuine care and motives. However, I must admit the marathon itself was rather long and tiring, which was indeed a huge turn-off.
Overall, I would recommend running this marathon next year if given the chance, especially to those willing to help people in need! Trust me, you will have a blast!
