Art Lessons
Introduction
The aim of this report is to discuss the removal of art lessons in/from our school by highlighting its positive and negative aspects as well as making suggestions for improvement.
Positive Aspects
According to some students, art lessons let our creativity flow since that is the only time that our personality shines at school. Thus, can express ourselves. In addition, art lessons allow us to relax as they let us take our minds off academic subjects. As a result, we feel less stress and pressure at school.
Negative Aspects
It has also been mentioned that it is considered to be a useless subject as the teachers do not make the most of their time teaching art principles. Hence, the students do not learn anything substantial. Moreover, art classes can considerably affect your overall GPA because they are given equal weight as other subjects. Therefore, a less artistic student will have fewer chances of getting into a good university.
Recommendations
Taking everything into account, although art lessons at school are not particularly productive/informative, they allow us to relax in between more stressful academic subjects. Therefore, I would recommend art remains a subject taught in our school and is given less weight. Concurrently, more students would be encouraged to give art a chance whilst not worrying about grades.
