Suguru's POV

The sound of my footsteps as I run to Shoko is the only thing my ears can focus on.

Run.

Gojo is dead; I left him there to die trying to save a girl who was destined to perish either way. Tears cloud my vision as I run, the wounds on my body begging me to stop; but do I even deserve rest? Do I deserve to care about the way the pain is dulling my senses?

I push the doors of the ER open only to find Masamichi Yaga and Shoko standing around a metallic table, the floor around it a red pond of blood. On the table is Y/n, her eyes open, staring at the ceiling.

"Shoko?" My voice breaks.

"Suguru." She takes her gloves off, rushing towards me. "What happened?" Her hands go over my wounds; I feel her energy close them, but it's slower than usual, weak, probably strained after what I am seeing in front of me.

There is so much blood.

"Satoru is dead," I mutter as I fall. My knees give out as I say it.

I said it.

He is dead.

"What?" Shoko kneels with me, her thumbs cleaning the tears I didn't notice were falling from my eyes. "No..." Shoko's eyes swell with tears. "That makes no sense, Suguru." She looks towards the door. "He can't be dead... He... He is Gojo. He..." Her voice is shaky as she holds on to my shoulders.

I take a deep breath in, my chest fillling with the need to let the weight off of me, . The words pile up in my mouth. I need to tell her. I need to tell someone.

"We were attacked, there was a sorcerer." My words are shaky as I try my best not to stutter. "He had a sword that could breach Gojo's limitless... I didn't even notice he was there." I sob. "I didn't notice until the sword went through his stomach." My lip trembles as my hands cover my face.

"The sword went through his stomach?" Yaga steps forward, his mind seemingly engrossed with Y/n's body. "Did you see his body?"

"No..." I wipe my tears. "The sorcerer that killed him, he killed Riko... He said... He said he was dead."

"The star plasma vessel dead, Gojo Satoru dead." He takes out a cigar as he takes a deep breath in. "Why are you alive?"

Shoko's eyes glare at him, my jaw clenching at his question.

I don't know why I am alive either.

Why am I alive?

The way he lights his cigar seeming so unbothered by what happened makes my blood boil. "What happened to her then?" I stand up, walking closer to Y/n's body. My eyes wonder to see her wounds,I cant help but look away as I see a stab wound scar over her eye. She is so covered in blood I feel guilt at the relief that fills my senses seeing her pale body on the metallic table. Satoru was never the same after he got back from that factory.

This is for the better...

My eyes widen as my eye catches her chest rise and fall. "She is alive?"

"Barely." He takes a puff of his cigar. "You should forget what you both saw. At least if you don't want to end up like your friend Satoru did." The way he says his name makes me want to kill him; I take a step towards him when I feel the energy in the room switch so abruptly we all hold our breath.

All of us taking a step back.

Y/n's body suddenly floats up; the lights flicker as she rises; her eyes seems dazed as she smiles,  the fabric that  was covering her draping down, the blood all around her just adding impact to the visual image we get, the way she looks seems almost artistic.

"Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one." Y/n's voice sounds ghostly as she says those words.

"Y/n?" Shoko rushes to her side. "Her pupils are blown out."

Y/n's face looks calm as her hair floats around her, the small smile on her face irritates me. Her lips mumbling unrecognizable words as her limbs gently fall to her sides.

"Hey, y/n!" I talk to her; her eyes look around the ceiling like she could see something there.

"She can't hear us. She doesn't look fully conscious." Shoko checks her pulse.

"Ah... fuck." Yaga brings out his phone. "None of you leave until I say so. What you saw today here. Don't ever speak about it; if you do, the jujutsu society will respond accordingly..." He sighs seeing her floating "They don't pay me enough for this shit." He calls someone. "Suguru, go get the girl's body, Shoko, go look for Satoru's body, bring him here too." He puts the phone to his ear.

I would feel angry that he is bossing us around, but thinking of spending another minute in this room with the unbearable smell of blood makes me sick. So I ignore the floating body and leave; Shoko and I walk fast, each following his orders. I need to bring Riko's body.

I want to see Satoru, to say goodbye. To tell him I'm sorry. I should never have left.

I slow down as I see that sorcerer's worm-looking curse making a blood trail. I quickly look around, but the sorcerer is nowhere in sight.

Exorcise, absorb, repeat.

I run to the building, accelerating as applause fills my ears. My eyes widen as I open the door, my limbs going numb as I see him. Alive, holding Riko's body. His eyes shining brighter than ever. Surrounded by cult followers.

He is alive...

The tension on my shoulders starts leaving until he gets closer, and I see it. A scar over his eye.

The same one that y/n had.

He walks closer to me. speaking to me but I cant really understand what he says, there is to much noise in my head with my thoughts consuming me. With the applauses disorientating me, echoing in my head, clouding my mind.

"I see you already saw Shoko..." His eyes seeming foreign and unknown as they stare at me.

Should I tell him?

"Yeah, she healed me..." I can't tell him, I can never tell him.

I don't want to tell him, he is already obsessed with her as it is.

"I am fine now Satoru."
