Y/n's POV

I squeeze my eyes, feeling a terrible headache, my  hand reaching for my eyes rubbing them trying to get rid of the dry feeling as i roll to my side.

I roll to my side?

I quickly sit up, looking around, my eyes quickly recognizing the space. My childhood home. I look down to find my uniform dried up with my blood.

I am alive.

My mind takes me back to what happened—the wounds, the way my cursed energy wasn't working properly, the way I almost bled out. If it weren't for Shoko, I would probably not be here right now. My eyes close as the images make their way through my head—a golden color passing through clouds, a breeze, sound completely gone from my senses. "Throughout Heaven and Earth, I alone am the honored one." What do those words even mean? It repeated so many times in my head for me to ignore it. I need to find out what attacked me.

I look down at my hands; somehow, I feel stronger. I close my fists as I call on it, feeling my reversed curse energy bubble up in my fists. It's different—it has an almost chaotic feel to it, like it's oozing out, like the source has no end. Weird, but good.

My feet touch the cold floor as I stand up, heading out to see where my phone is. I walk out of my room, seeing the light of the TV in the distance. I can't help but feel nostalgia; when I was a child, this was always how I found my father... No. Yaga. I look at the couch as he looks up from his phone. We both stare at each other in silence.

"You need to go," Yaga says, putting the TV's volume down.

"What?" My eyebrows furrow as I walk closer to him.

"The elders will keep what happened a secret. Sorcerers have been more subordinated since they learned you were under our command. So we can't let them know that you are... unstable."

"Unstable?" I ask, sitting on the carpet, like I used to do as a child.

I have never seen Yaga so... serious. His expression stiff as he sits up. "When you were... in the euphoric state you went in after we stopped the bleeding, Suguru... He walked inside and told us Gojo... was dead."

"Gojo is dead?!" My mouth falls open, but my mind is interrupted by Yaga.

"Was!" He rolls his eyes annoyed. "The kid is alive. He was attacked, the first blow that landed him." He pauses, his eyes going to me, as his hand goes up to point at me. "It went through his stomach, Toji Fushiguro pierced through him, the same wounds that happened to him appeared on you... same place and everything."

My eyes twitch as I sit up, feeling like someone dumped a bucket of ice-cold water onto me. "What?" I say in disbelief.

If that fucker gets hurt... I die?

"That makes no... That makes no fucking sense!" My mind races through all the reasons that could happen, but none of them make sense. "Could it be a binding vow?" I think to find a plausible explanation, but the more I think, the less it makes sense. I laugh as satire hits me in the face. I'm supposed to kill him if needed. My laugh dies down as it sinks in.

"Gojo doesn't know... I doubt he would do something like that." His eyes stare at the wall blankly. "We silenced the people that do know. Till we find out why that happened, you better leave. It will do no good to have you here when you can bleed out in front of everyone, Also, Gojo should never find out. We have a new mission for you. You'll go with a small society located outside Japan; if we need you, we will call on you."

"What about Satoru then?" I ask, who will deal with him,  what will happen to him?

"Satoru huh...?" Yaga's eyebrow raises as he looks back at me. "First-name basis with him?"

My jaw clenches. "Who will deal with him?" I correct my slip. My eyebrows furrowing.

"We don't even know if you are still a match to him... the kid awakened, he probably is the strongest sorcerer to ever exist. We dont know if he will be as compliants as before"

My chest feels like weight has been added to it. Why am I alive then... "I'm still useful..." I try to breathe. "I can fight him; there was a big gap between us before, maybe it'll just be harder for me, but I'm sure-"

"Y/n," Yaga interrupts me, raising his hand to me signaling me to stop talking. "Gojo is not your priority; we need you for other reasons still, so stop yapping so much, it makes my head hurt." He turns the TV off. "The plane leaves tomorrow, so go. It'll be the furthest you'll ever be from us, so enjoy the vacation while we figure that idiot out." He sighs. "Besides, it might have been a one-time thing; your wounds don't reflect on him after all."

"What?" My head tilts.

"While he was in class, we did a small wound on you," he stops, looking up at me. "He didn't get it; we would try to wound him to see if it wounds you still, but that idiot really is untouchable now." He stands up. "Pack your bags and prepare for the trip; we will call you about your commands later. Don't run away. Also, always, always pick up the phone, keep it charged and working, if it doesnt work you'll come report it to us so we can get you a new one, no exceptions," he commands.

The binding vow sets.

"Yes, Yaga."

He chuckles darkly. "Calling me by my name now?" He looks back at me, his eyes hard to read. "Watch it..."

Omniscient POV:

Y/n was used for the next nine years as an anomaly cleaner. Whenever curses escaped Japan or got attached to people who left the country, it was her job to hunt them, to exorcise them. That was until a war was declared. Suguru Geto planned an attack; they need all sorcerers on deck, so Y/n was called back to Japan.
