Sukuna's POV
A thousand years ago.
The blood threatens to burn the vessels in which it flows as I see what I have done laid out in front of me. The air reeks of smoke, of her blood. It didn't have to be like this, Y/n.
You chose him knowing it would cost you your life.
Now I'll slaughter you until you plead for me to save you. I want to see you on your knees in front of me, groveling for mercy, for me to save you.
The wielder with six eyes looks up at me with hollow eyes as I walk closer to him, his arms pulling her away from me, some of her staying behind.
I can't help but smile. "What else could I possibly do to her?" I look down at the crimson of her remains. "I am still a human after all." At least for now, bhat will change soon, I need to remember, to find her in her next life.
Will she learn her lesson by then?
Will he learn too? I won't stop until he knows his place beneath me.
"Human?" He asks, his voice filled with poison as teardrops fall onto her.
I want him to look up at me, to see his reddened eyes, filled with the fact he is not strong enough, that we will never be able to beat me.
He was so confident, sending her away for her safety.
Look at her now, fool.
"Was it worth it?" I ask as I crouch down in front of him. I need to see his broken soul. "If you had only let her go..."
"She was your wife." His eyes come up, finally making me able to gloath ove the sheer pain that engulfed them.
"Something both of us were able to overlook." His eyes don't move as I rise back up to my feet, lost, completely detached from life. "I'll trust you to give her a worthy burial."
I thought he would have more fight in him though, truly pathetic.
I turn around, giving her a last glance. I'll come back for her.
If I couldn't have her, neither could you.
"What about me?" His voice sounds completely unlike the arrogant bastard I knew. Just a week ago, he flaunted his strength as if death feared him, a self-proclaimed saint preaching about protecting the weak, all the while disregarding the very essence of his own potential.
"You are asking me to kill you?" I turn back to find his gloomy eyes back on her lifeless body... Even in death she is beautiful. "Don't be a coward, you can do that yourself."
I don't look back asI walk away, his cries eventually reaching my ears. The noise fades as I walk further away from them.
I must come back, even if that means conspiring with a curse.
With each step I take, I prepare to lose my humanity. Not that I think I have any left.
I awakened only a couple of weeks ago. With each mark that manifested on my skin, my fate was revealed. I was born from his fall, a creation spawned from his demise, and the very thought of sharing a connection with someone like him fills me with rage.
I must stop believing I was ever human. I am the hound of the honored one.
I walk inside the temple to find the curse that has been hiding right beneath our noses. "You are back already, Ryomen?" Kenjaku stands up and hands me the script. "She found it, but since you are still here, I assume it was too late already?"
"Killed her before she opened that pretty little mouth of hers." I open the script.
Castaways,
In the tempest of my divine rage, you were cast down from the celestial realm, thrust into the mortality. For that accept this as an apology, my last deed.
Great evil was created from the exilement, I must quest for you to vanquish evil, wielding powers intrinsic to your very being. Amongst the honored one lies the ability to shape time and space itself, a formidable force awaiting your command, you have the ability to bend energy. And buried deep within the nucleus of Jujutsu's society lies a weapon, guarded by an immortal being, that holds the key to your salvation.
Victory shall only be yours when arrogance yields to humility. Only then will the path to triumph reveal itself.
Embrace your destiny, for in it lies the promise of redemption.
Your Creator.
"The weapon?" I ask as I finish reading it.
"There is a veil, Tengen..." He stops speaking as I look up at him. "I believe he is protecting it for them."
I sigh as I toss the script into the fire in front of us, replacing its shrine with a fake one. They shall believe their fate ends with me, that there is no end, their fate will be me,to repeat this cycle forever.
They will never learn about this.
Ryomen Keibetsu will cease to exist, and Sukuna will awaken.
I smile as I look back at Kenjaku. "Transfer my soul, when the time comes. I promise you'll be free under my rule. If you try to trick me... you will be exorcised as the curse you are." His head bows down.
He must know he is only alive because I allow it.
Because he is useful to me.
"Yes, my King." He walks closer to me, holding a knife. "I'll transfer your soul into pieces of cursed objects. What would you wish to be cast into?"
I look down, and my eyes go to my engagement ring.
"I think I know what you can divide me into. Make sure to wait for her. Once you find her, awaken me."
"Yes, my King," he repeats.
I like the sound of it.
I will become the king of curses, forged by the divine to enact punishment upon the world. Even if God himself cursed his own decision, I am the instrument of his will, the executor of divine justice.
Y/n's POV
