The two got to their room, unpacked and looked out at sea.
They weren't on a very high floor, so the view wasn't so spectacular.
"Sorry I couldn't get us a more romantic view, baby. I didn't wanna waste money" said Patty.
"That's alright, honey" said Calvin.
"You sure? If I had any brains, I probably woulda asked the Wiggles for some extra dough" said Patty.
"Patty. This is wonderful. I can't remember when I last vacationed to a place like this" said Calvin.
"I wouldn't be surprised if your poppo never even let you vacation" said Patty.
Calvin laughed a little. "He didn't. Although he did always say it'd be a reward."
"A reward for what?"
"For my becoming the person he wants. And for him making a man out of me."
"Cuckoo" Patty cringed.
"I know. When I met Meg's dad, I basically had a lucky break" said Calvin.
"And you'll have an even luckier one when you meet mine. Where is he anyway? He was supposed to be here an hour ago" said Patty.
Just then, the phone in their room rang.
Patty answered it. "Howdy?"
The concierge answered from the other side, making Patty's smile drop.
"Okay. Thanks a million. Bye" said Patty hanging up.
"What is it?" said Calvin.
"My parents' flight got delayed. They wanted to let us know" said Patty.
"Delayed? For how long?"
"You never really know. For now, they're saying it's delayed till tonight."
"Alright, so they might arrive tomorrow morning or something" said Calvin.
"I hope so" said Patty.
