Coming Home (Dean x Reader)

Summary: AU world where Dean works in the army and comes home to surprise you with an anniversary party...

Dean had been in the army for quite some time. He was sent away to a new location. Y/N had been lonely with his in and out visits. Sometimes he'd stay not even for a week. It was rough. Y/N and Dean had been together since high school. This year marked their ten year anniversary of being together and being married for six years. Dean saw how hard this was on Y/N. He had a plan to surprise her.

Mary was in on the plan and couldn't wait to see Y/N's reaction.

Y/N was going about her usual day. She grabbed herself some coffee so she could focus working from home. Y/N didn't want to miss a single moment with Dean so Y/N got herself a job to work from home. The extra money was great for them and it made Y/N happy.

Meanwhile, Mary waited for Dean at the airport. She held a sign that said "Dean W.". She kept looking around, worried she had missed him. That's when they spotted one another. He was hauling his duffel bag and other luggage. He walked a bit faster as a big smile appeared on his face. "Mom!" He shouted happily when he was close enough. They embraced one another.

"It's nice to see you..." Mary mumbled into their hug. It seemed to last forever. Dean gave her a gentle squeeze before pulling back. "Did you text Y/N about an in person appointment at her job?" He asked her. Mary nodded. "She should be heading there on time." She told him. They got to Mary's car and loaded Dean's luggage. Dean hopped into the passenger seat and relaxed a little.

"I can't wait to see her." He says as he put on his sunglasses.

Dean and Mary arrived at their house. They started to set up the house with souvenirs Dean got Y/N as well as a banner that said "Happy Anniversary". Dean wanted to surprise Y/N by telling her that he was getting some time off. A long time off that is. This anniversary was going to prove that Dean was making time for them and their relationship.

He got out some champagne and champagne glasses. "Do you think this is too much? Too little?" He asked Mary for reassurance.

Mary chuckles. "It looks great, honey.... It's like your proposal all over again." She joked. Dean chuckles sarcastically. Dean was super nervous when he had proposed to Y/N. It took a long time to plan everything and figure out exactly the ring size, what he should propose with in a speech, how he looked, how Y/N looked, how the day was perfect, etc. "She knows what she married though." Mary chuckles.

Dean chuckled too. "Yeah she definitely did..." He says with a smile.

Y/N was on her way back from getting coffee and groceries. She hummed. She parked and was oblivious to Mary's car. She brought the bags of food and coffee inside. She hummed as she started to put away everything. She felt movement and stopped. The reason she was oblivious was because she had her earbuds in. She grabbed herself a knife for protection. She carefully walked around the house before she stopped to see the "Happy Anniversary" banner. "Huh?" She says before someone popped out at her. She held the knife up.

"Woah, woah!" The deep voice said. Y/N immediately put down the knife. "Dean?" Dean stepped into the light and smiles. "Hi baby... happy anniversary!" He says and hugged her. Y/N put the knife down, careful of them both and hugged back. She started crying into Dean. "I have missed you so much..." she sobbed into his chest. "Oh, baby..." he says with a frown.

"I can't believe you're back!" Y/N says happily through her tears. "I know... I wanted to surprise you but-" "I ruined it didn't I?" Y/N sniffles. Dean cupped her cheeks in his hands. "Listen, you didn't ruin anything. You didn't react the way I thought you would. It's good to have your guard up." He says. He kissed her short. "I'm staying for a long time." He finally said.

"Really?" Y/N says excited. "Yeah, baby. Now let me give you some presents." He says. He pulled back and reveals some flowers. "Oh, Dean..." she chuckles. "You really didn't have to..." She says and pulled him close.

"What do you mean? I-" Dean says before Y/N had pulled him into a deep kiss. He held Y/N close to his body as they kissed for awhile. It started to turn heated before they pulled away. "That is so much better for a gift." Y/N told Dean. Dean smiles as he kept their foreheads together. "Happy Anniversary." He says.

All their friends and family popped out in surprise. Y/N smiles wide before they started to have a well deserved party. She shared some nachos with Dean, wanting to be close to him at all times.

Dean talked about his journeys in the war and training all while glancing at Y/N. Y/N was playing with his hand as it was wrapped around her.

After the party was over, they cleaned up and got ready for bed. Dean and Y/N changed into their pajamas and climbed into bed. "I've missed this. Your head on my chest and your body pressed against mine." Dean says suddenly as they were in that position. "Me too..." Y/N whispered.

"I want to have kids, Dean. If you're staying this time, we'll have more time to practice and maybe we'll-"

"I'd love to." Dean interrupted Y/N. He kissed her forehead. "I need a mini you running around." He teased.

"I'm sure you do." Y/N joked. He rubbed her arm
