F.M. Barrino Taylor
I think my conversation with Oprah went well, she only asked if I had any concerns with our working conditions and I told her that I was fine l don't know why I did but I did mention that I wish I had a little more privacy when I went to my dressing room. She thought it was the easiest fix in the world and told me she would fix it in the morning I couldn't wait to tell Taraji. Maybe if I said something about the food and transportation they'd fix that too. When I got back to the dressing room everyone was getting ready for the next scene so I didn't have time to talk. I quickly got changed and put into makeup then we headed outside. This scene didn't take very long to shoot we went over it a few times before blitz was satisfied and we moved to the dinner scene. Back inside we went.
"Damn mama aren't you hot?" Zion asked me as we made it inside.
"I am but it's what black people wore back then"
"Oh lord I could never be an actress this is too much. Hot clothes, all this walking and going over a scene multiple times in the heat is insane" I laughed, she never did show a desire to be an actress in the first place. She's always been a strong woman, outspoken and unapologetic she reminded me a lot of Taraji or Danielle, I just know she's going to be someone's boss, Zion worked for nobody.
"Whatever you do you will be the best at it"
"You got that right" We did a handshake and headed back into the dressing room to freshen up, the dinner scene was one of my favorites because Celie finally gets to break free it was the big turning point of the movie. It didn't take long for us to get back on set and shoot the dinner scene we couldn't help but laugh at the straight face Danielle had to keep through most of the scene so we had to do a few extra takes. I was telling off mister and then got up to leave, Shug followed with her new fiancé and Mary Agnes came last. I said my last lines, the car pulled off and blitz yelled cut and called it a day.
"Finally" I was so tired. He gathered us all around like he did every day.
"Like I always tell you all thank you for your participation we had another great day of making magic happen" We cheered, my cheer was a little flat because I'm tired and hot and he thanking us outside. I couldn't wait for it to hit 6:00 so the sun could go down. He told us to make it home safe and be ready bright and early in the morning because he wanted to work on shugs song and then they would be shooting the funeral scene. We were so close to being done and I didn't want it to end, as much as I complained about being tired if I could do something forever it would be coming to this set and working with the same people.
"I'm ready to go come on ma" Zion linked our arms and we headed back inside.
"I can't believe it's been a whole year since you started, your movie comes out in December are you excited?"
