"Good morning mama." I greeted Taraji over FaceTime.

"Good morning beautiful." She blew me a kiss and I only wished she was actually here so I could accept it.

"You ready for tonight? Congratulations again baby."

"Congratulations to you as well, thank you." We had both been nominated for the NAACP award and the ceremony was tonight.

"What are you wearing?"

"I don't know. Tym chose and he won't let me see the dress for some reason. You're going to look beautiful in your dress though." Me and my stylist showed her my dress and she loved it, I did too!

"Mommy!" I heard my name being called and I took my phone off the vanity and walked out my room. I knew the voice was Keziah so I went to her room. "Mommy can you help granny?" I saw that my mom had been trying to do her hair. I couldn't braid and my mom couldn't braid either so I usually got her hair done by someone.

"Okay baby."

"Sorry Kezi." My mama kissed her forehead and stood from the bed. She held up her hand and I high fived her. "I'm tagging you in." She saw Taraji on my phone and then looked at me before walking out the room. I hadn't told my mom about how my relationship with Taraji had blossomed into so much more yet but, I knew she already knew. She always knew. I took her place on the bed and took down whatever my mom was trying to do to her head.

"Raji."

"Yeah baby?"

"Who does your daughter's hair."

"Oh her names Erica, she does braids and wigs."

"Do you know if she has any openings?"

"Not today, I just got Ari and Jade squeezed in for the next two months. She told me she was booked up for the next three months."

"Do you know anyone else."

"What are you trying to do?"

"Keziah's hair needs to be braided and I don't know how to do it, my mom doesn't. Zion usually does her hair or I make her an appointment but I forgot."

"Oh Ari can do it."

"She knows how to braid?"

"'Mhm, she knows how to do simple styles. She could do Kezi some box braids."

"Okay yeah, let me know how much she charges."

"We'll be over there in a hour."

"She's not in school?"

"No, she wasn't feeling good today."

"Are you sure she'll want to?"

"I'll check with her but I'm sure she will do it. If not I will."
