"Come on Ari get up girl I've been in here three times to get you up!" Mama said hitting me with a pillow. I shot up fully dressed in the bed.
"I'm up." I stood up grabbing my phone and purse. I reached for her hand, she grabbed it and lead me out the room. "I don't know why I'm so tired."
"You want me to call JP to wake you up?" She asked unlocking her car.
"Low, that was low." She smirked as she started up the car and pulled out. "Are we getting food after this, if I have to be awake I want to be fed." Mama rolled her eyes.
"Mhm."
"Come on are you still mad at me. I promise it won't ever happen again."
"Oh I know it won't. Imma come in like Tasha did when she thought Marcus was cheating on her." I side eyed her.
"You don't even have a gun."
"You don't know what I got."
"You got a gun?"
"Mind your business, but I believe every woman should have a gun."
"Why, you know how many women have beef with each? The murder rate would be crazy."
"You know how many women get taken advantage of because most men can physically over power you. Sometimes there's no use in fighting." She had a point. Especially since I knew she could only speak from experience. I knew what my aunt had been through in her past. My mom went through the same thing with my dad.
"You have a point."
"Mhm. You do too though. It's sad how many people who do have guns use them for all of the wrong reasons."
"So does this mean I can get a gun?"
"Girl what you mean? Now?"
"Yeah, I'm having a baby I have to protect him."
"Girl no, I'm not giving your crazy ass no gun." We pulled up to the studio and I saw my friend's car outside.
"Ooh yay she came."
"Who came?"
"Kiara, my friend."
"Kiara. I only know about KD and his sister Lyric."
"Kiara's a new friend. She has a daughter, she's two." Mama looked at me when I mentioned that she had a kid. "You will love her when you meet her." She turned off the car and got out, she came to my side to help me and closed and locked her car behind me.
