I was freaking out. Did she really just have her third heart attack, what happened? I watched as they loaded her onto a stretcher, one of the paramedics approached me and asked me if I wanted to ride with or follow behind them and I opted to follow behind them. He told me which hospital they were going to and I grabbed my purse and keys off the floor, I dropped everything when I seen Taraji in distress. Just as quickly as I entered the house I had to leave right back out the door. The babies? I ran back inside and up the stairs to grab their car seats and quickly packed a bag. I could hear the front door downstairs shut close and I headed back down the steps with everything I needed.
"Tasia why did an ambulance just leave the house?" Jade asked me.
"Your mom just had a heart attack" She gasped. "Can you help me get the boys in the car so we can go." She nodded and helped me secure the boys in their car seats. We put them in the car and buckling them up in the back seat before going to sit up front. I pulled out the driveway and drove as quickly as I could without getting stopped by the police. It didn't take long for me to arrive, I found a parking spot and me and Jade jumped out. She almost ran straight to the entrance but I called her name so she could come help me with the boys. When we got inside I gave Taraji's name and they told me she was rushed to an operating room and that we should sit in a waiting room until she's been transferred to a room. We went to sit down and Jade pulled out her phone. "Who are you calling?"
"Everyone, I have to call Ari. I need to call dad, grandma, Marcell, Halle, Chloe, aunt Tracie if she even answers-" She wiped her tears and stood up from her chair and walked away to make her calls in private. After about ten minutes Jade returned. "Daddy said he and Ari are on their way here anyway. Halle said she's on the way, Chloe is out of town but she said she's on the first flight here. Aunt Tracie didn't answer and I couldn't leave a voicemail because her mailbox is full so I texted her. I should call her best friends too." She walked off again to make another call. Forty five minutes of waiting and Taraji was finally admitted to a room, the receptionist gave us her room number and we grabbed the boys and headed to the back. Seeing her hooked up to them machines saddened me. Jade rushed towards her mother the moment we entered the room. Everyone who was able to come immediately had showed up. Halle showed up with DDG and Halo, all of Taraji's friends showed up, Terrance was here but Ari refused to see her mother so she stayed with the boys right outside the room.
"Auntie what did your doctor say? Is everything going to be okay?" Halle asked.
"... I'm going into heart failure." There were collective gasps around the room.
"... What?" Terrance asked in a choked voice. Her bed was surrounded and I stood at the foot of it in tears.
"I've caused too much damage to my heart, this is my third heart attack. I'm surprised I'm alive right now."
