Today I had to fly out to Los Angeles for the BET awards, I brought Fantasia and our kids with me. I had my assistant book us an air bnb since there were so many of us. When we were settled in my assistant showed up with a car so I could head to the venue and get my rehearsal in.
"Ma are you about to leave?" Ari asked as she approached me bouncing Kai.
"Yes."
"Can I come?"
"No you have babies to watch."
"Mama I have been watching them, I'll even bring Kai."
"And you're going to leave Khalil here?"
"Ooh I'll watch the boys" Zion offered and I side eyed her. "Or not?"
"Yes can she watch Khalil?" I just stared at her. "I'm going to be backstage anyway it's not like I'm going to have any human contact."
"You got two humans right there." She rolled her eyes. "Ari you can't just keep passing the boys off to any and everyone. They're two months they shouldn't have even been on the plane I don't want them out at the venue until tonight."
"He'll be fine ma-"
"Ari no!"
"Ugh!" She stomped away walking past Fantasia and slamming the door to her room. I rolled my eyes at her.
"Ooh, she's mad at you." Zion said. I shrugged.
"What's wrong with her?" Tasia asked.
"She's upset she can't go with mama Raji to the Bet Awards venue."
"Why not?"
"She has two kids to watch." I answered.
"It's a million people here, we can watch the boys."
"She even offered to take Kai." Zion added.
"No. Kai shouldn't be out right now."
"She's just running away from her responsibilities again. She's always got Kai, I had Khalil the whole way here. I deal with Khalil at home, she doesn't. Even when her friends are helping they deal with Khalil and she deals with Jakai."
"I've never noticed that but now that I think about it, it's true." They could hear a baby crying from Ari's room.
"That's Khalil." Jade walked out the room with Khalil and Zion and Tasia both looked at me. "See."
"The lungs on this kid, he better be a singer or something." Jade said walking up to us. I took Khalil from her and bounced him in my arms as the doorbell rang.
"It's okay baby." He immediately calmed down with me and was smiling.
"Alexis is here." Jade said announcing my assistant.
