A week later...
F.M. Barrino-Henson
Today was my baby Dallas's birthday. He was turning 18 today and I honestly couldn't believe it, I cried when Zion turned 18, and I even cried when Ari and Jade turned 18. Watching our babies grow up is such an emotional thing for me, but Taraji is the exact opposite. I'm crying my eyes out while she's celebrating and counting down the number of kids we've got left. Three down, and three left to go. It was Sunday and I was currently getting dressed for the day. Taraji was up before me again. She didn't sleep very well last night which worries me a bit because if she's not resting then her mind is working and she needs rest. She was making the kids a big breakfast because I wanted to wake Dallas up with a big breakfast and we would decorate the kitchen. After I finished getting dressed, I wore some jeans, a white long-sleeve shirt, a white hoodie, and some slides. I started blowing up a bunch of balloons with an air pump Taraji's always had. After I finished with the multicolored balloons, I blew up his number 18.
"Hey baby are you done because I'm done cooking."
"Yes, hold on." I turned off the pump and put it away. "Help me please."
"I told you to grab a trashbag downstairs now I gotta take my old ass back down the steps."
"Thank you, Mama." When she returned we put the balloons in a trash bag, I grabbed the number 18 balloons and then the banner and tape. We woke up a little earlier so we could get everything set up. "You made all of this?"
"I know we're going to have a lot of people over, all of our kids and Zion called me a few minutes ago and specifically asked if I was making breakfast to make french toast."
"She's having a craving."
"Yeah, she said she wants bacon- and french toast so I made a whole pack of bacon and some sausage." She made eggs, french toast, bacon, sausage, fried chicken, potatoes, and some fruit. This was definitely enough food for all of our babies and grandbabies. "Are Kendall and Tommie coming?"
"Not this morning, but he'll be here later."
Taraji released the balloons in the dining room, scattered all over the floor, and the other two were tied to the chair we wanted him to sit in. I handed one end of the banner to Taraji and we hung it up on the wall behind the dining table. "It looks so cute!" I clasped my hands together, squealing in excitement, and then pulled her into a hug kissing her cheek. "Let's go get some presents." We went back upstairs and went into our closet where we stored all of his gifts.
