"Mama, will Mommy be okay?" Keziah asked.
"Yeah, she's going to be just fine. Mommy just has a cold." She sat at the table eating her cereal with her siblings. "Dallas get your behind down these stairs!"
"I'm coming!" He responded coming down the stairs, it was 7:30 in the morning, and I had to get the kids off to school. Nadia wasn't allowed to come get them for now so I was doing it. When Dallas sat down in his seat I put a bowl, the milk, and his cereal in front of him. He made his bowl and then I put everything away.
"Is Mommy coming to the center with us?" Angelo asked.
"No, I'm going to stay home with her and make sure she gets better."
"But I wanna go to the center?"
"And you will, I'm going to drop you off with your sister and you can go with her."
"Okay!"
"Mama we're having a Halloween party again, this time can I make cupcakes."
"Of course baby you can make whatever you want."
"Mama, I have practice later can Nadia bring me home?"
"No."
"But you have to take care of Mama, I'm trying to help you out."
"Ride home with Mike... Hold on." I pulled out my phone and called Mike. It didn't take him long to answer. "Hey, Mike." I smiled at Dallas and he groaned laying his head on the table.
"Hey, Ma."
"Can you bring Dallas home after practice?"
"Yeah, he gon have to stay back with me for a little bit but I can bring him home."
"That's fine, he doesn't have anything else to do." Dallas glared at me as I thanked Mike.
"I'm on my way to work in a few minutes. You want me to come get him too, I'll drop Keziah off too."
"That would be so nice of you, thank you Mike they'll be ready when you are."
"No problem."
"Thank you, baby, love you tell my baby I love her too."
"Yes ma'am. We love you too." I hung up the phone.
"Mike is taking you two to school." Keziah loved Mike so she was excited to ride with him, Dallas was annoyed that he didn't get his way. He'd been trying to get to Nadia since his birthday party 2 days ago. He wouldn't even have to worry about any of this if he didn't do the stupid shit he did. I waited for Mike to come to get Dallas and Keziah he showed up 15 minutes later and then I was just left with the twins. I didn't want them around Tasia while she was sick so they didn't pick whatever she had up and arranged for Emani to watch them. She worked from home so she said it wasn't an issue and she didn't mind taking them to the center after Jade got out of class. After I dropped off the twins I went and opened the center giving Ms. Ellen and Micah full control to run the center. Micah and Ms. Ellen were great authoritative figures so I knew they could keep the kids in control until Jade got there. Of course, I was going to come by later when the kids got out of school to check on everything and they could call me if they needed anything. I stopped at the store to pick up some cold medicine and some masks because I didn't want to catch anything either and ended up giving it to one of our kids. When I got home I could hear Tasia hacking away upstairs. I stayed downstairs to make her something to eat. Whenever Tasia was sick which was rare by the way, it was hard to get her to eat anything. I made some avocado toast and an omelet. I put on a mask grabbed her plate and the Walgreens bag from my store run and headed upstairs. I entered our room and she was lying face down on her pillow moaning away. She looked so pitiful. I frowned and went to my side of the bed setting her plate on my side table and getting in. She felt me and turned on her other side. I smiled, I know she couldn't see me but she could kind of tell from my eyes, she gave me a pout and I just wanted to kiss it away. I almost did it anyway.
