I woke up to my phone going off, I turned around and it was 6 am on a Friday. I grabbed my phone and answered the call not checking the caller ID.
"Hello."
"Baby." I immediately sat up.
"What's wrong?"
"Are you coming over today?"
"I can't and why are you calling me at 6 am! I'm tired!"
"I miss you." I rolled my eyes and laid back down, I put the phone on speaker and turned the volume down. "Why can't I just come over there?"
"You want my mom to kill you?"
"I'm coming to the baby shower Ari."
"How, you don't know where I am."
"Ari tell me!"
"We're not going to be here anyway. She's renting out some space at a park." My phone lit up with a notification and I realized what day it was. I jumped out of the bed and went to Jades room, I opened her door and she wasn't in her bed. I went to mom's room and she was in the bed with her. Sometimes I was really jealous of Jades relationship with her mom. I always wished I had that but I've always been Taraji's third child. When I was younger I called her TT Raji, when my mom started spiraling I started calling her mama Raji I was 10 at the time and mom refused to stay home with me. She was always going on her next vacation. "Ari!" Damn I'm still on the phone? I closed the door and walked back to my room.
"What!?"
"I'm telling you that my son misses you." I rolled my eyes. He had a bad ass 3 year old who cursed every chance he got. Whatever he was saying never made sense but he knew he was saying bad words. I knew his mom too, she graduated from the same school I was going to. I only saw her my freshman year because she was a senior and I heard that she walked the stage with her son.
"Okay tell little JP I said hi. What is he doing up anyway?"
"He slept all afternoon so he not tired."
"I told you to stop messing up that baby's sleep schedule, he didn't need to sleep all afternoon." I couldn't even go to sleep anymore because he was trying to prolong our conversation on the phone. I headed back out my room and down the stairs going into the kitchen to find a snack. "Ooh mama is the goat!" I squealed quietly when I saw that she restocked all of my favorite snacks.
"You gon let me meet this goat?" He trying to be funny? I grabbed my bag of lays chips and the hot sauce, I grabbed a bowl and poured some chips in before pouring hot sauce on them.
"You want to meet her so badly, fine but she already told me that she wasn't going to be nice to you so..."
"I'm not worried about your old lady-" I grabbed a bottle of water from the fridge and sat at the table to enjoy my snack.
