Well no one came to explain this dressing room situation to us until the next day, I knew Blitz would be working with Halle, Phylicia, Deon, and Colman probably for most of this month so everyone else who didn't need to be on set were practicing other scenes. Currently, Danielle was working on hell no her song to Celie and Fantasia was going over some of her music as well. Oprah asked for me to come to her office so I did an hour after I made it to the set. I knocked on the door and I heard her voice tell me to come in.
"Hello Ms Avery" She smiled and I sent one back.
"Good morning Ms Oprah"
"It's been a good morning indeed, how are you?"
"I'm fine"
"Sandra explained to me that you had a concern about your dressing room?"
"Well all of them actually, like why don't we have our own?"
"Well, we didn't have the budget to get everyone in separate dressing rooms so we decided to group you together. I thought you wouldn't mind sharing a room with Danielle and Fantasia it seems you three have become such great friends"
"We are it's just that as the main cast I think we should be able to have our own privacy and how does a big company like Warner Bros and a billionaire like yourself not afford dressing rooms? I mean you have an amazing cast behind this movie I think we deserve our own dressing rooms"
"... I understand your concern and I will talk to Warner Bros about it" I sighed but that definitely wasn't the only issue and I could tell that she knew that. "Is there something else Taraji?"
"Yes actually I noticed we don't have any drivers and there's no food"
"Yes, well if we don't have the budget for dressing rooms we definitely don't have it for transportation and food. I'm trying to do the best I can with what I have"
"I understand I do but-"
"I honestly don't think you do, you've produced before correct?" I nodded. "So you know what all goes into a big production like this?" I nodded again. "You've been doing this long enough to know that there is a lot of money that's already gone into the props, clothing, extras, choreographers. We had to work with what we had and this is what we have." Well if this is what you're offering I wish I would've known I definitely could've done without the color purple. It would've been just fine without Taraji P Henson even though she knows and I know that after she added my name to the cast list it stopped being average.
