White. It’s so white. Everything is white.
“Nasa langit na ba ako?” wala sa sariling usal ko. I tried to look at my body… but I saw none. Even when I tried to raise my arms and legs, wala. It was as if I were a bubble, floating in this vast, endless whiteness.
“Where exactly am I…?”
“You already answered your own question, Young Miss.”
Nagulat ako at napalingon sa pinanggalingan ng boses. But what I saw… left me completely speechless.
A woman stood there or perhaps floated, dressed in shimmering white robes that glowed faintly like morning sunlight. Her golden eyes radiated warmth and wisdom, her hair flowed like threads of silk touched by gold. Her skin was so smooth, so flawless, and her figure... my goodness! She was stunning. Sexy. Elegant. Divine.
Isang tunay na diyosa.
“Thank you for your thoughts,” she chuckled, and oh! Her voice was soft, melodic—like lullabies wrapping you in comfort. Her smile? Baka ma-heart attack ako sa ganda. It was both comforting and overwhelming.
I swallowed. “Naririnig mo… ang iniisip ko?” gulat na tanong ko.
She nodded gently. “Minsan pa nga, nararamdaman ko rin ang puso niyo.”
“Wait, sino ka po pala? At sinabi mong… nasa langit ako?”
“Oh, where are my manners,” she said, fixing her posture with grace. “My name is Lisha, the Goddess of the world where the Superior—my one true God—has chosen you to be reincarnated.”
“Reincarnated…?”
“And yes,” she smiled. “You’re in the heavens. As you can see, isa ka nang kaluluwa. Just a soul that still carrying the memories of your previous life.”
If only I had a face right now, she would’ve seen how my jaw dropped open in disbelief. My imaginary eyes probably bulged out too.
I was just... floating. Still. Trying to process what she said.
"Ehem!"
She softly cleared her throat, pulling me out of my spiral of disbelief.
So she’s real? A literal Goddess? I thought I’d be greeted by San Pedro and his roster of angelic secretaries—or maybe an old God with a long white beard holding a huge book and a gavel.
But this?
This scene, it reminded me of the ones in anime I used to binge-watch during high school. Mga isekai na paulit-ulit kong pinapanood, wishing that maybe… someday… ako naman.
But still… Reincarnate? Did she really say that?
“Y-You mean… a God actually chose a world for me to live in again?” tanong ko, halos pabulong na dahil sa gulat.
“Exactly,” sagot niya, with a warm, knowing smile.
I laughed a little, unsure if I was amused or just losing my mind. “Does the Goddess usually tell a funny joke before sending spirits to their peaceful place?”
“But this isn’t a joke,” she said gently. “Didn’t you pray to Him… asking for another life? And He listened.”
My smile faltered.
I remembered… the blood, the pain, the fear. The loneliness I kept bottled up for so long. My whispered plea in my final moments.
And He heard me?
Tears welled up in my eyes. Hindi ko na napigilan.
“Bakit…?” I whispered, not even sure what I was asking anymore. Bakit ako? Bakit ngayon? Bakit ngayon lang niya ako dininig? Why did He choose to grant me this?
“Because you’re a good girl, Alliyah,” she said, stepping closer. “You’ve always tried to do right, even when life was unkind. You gave without asking for anything in return. You endured even when no one noticed.”
My tears fell freely now. Hindi na ito simpleng iyak. It was like every hidden pain, every silent cry, every lonely night was being heard, being acknowledged.
And when she opened her arms and embraced me like I was someone who mattered, I broke down completely.
She smelled like wildflowers and the soft breeze of spring mornings. Her embrace was warm, like a blanket after a storm.
“Now, now, my sweetie,” bulong niya. “You’ve been through a lot. We apologize for your suffering.”
I cried harder. Kasi totoo. Napagod ako. Nasaktan ako. Napag-iwanan. Pero ngayon, kahit saglit lang… someone held me like I was worthy of love.
Siguro kung may makakita sa amin ngayon, mapapaisip sila, ‘Anong ginagawa ng Goddess? Bakit niya kayakap ang isang glowing bubble na tila umiiyak?’
“Stop now, you beautiful angel,” she smiled, brushing off my tears. “And tell me what you wish for.”
"Wish?" I ask, confused.
"Hmm... Your wish for your new life. What do you want yo have? What kind of things you want? What are you truly wishing for?"
I paused. What do I want?
“I… I just want a peaceful life. A life where I don’t have to overwork, where I can laze around. Where I can just… live simply and enjoy.”
Her smile widened. “Anything else?”
“Uhm… maybe a skill to cook delicious food?” I said shyly, laughing through my tears. “I’ve always wanted to be a chef. But in my past life, I just didn’t have the chance.”
It's always my dream since I was a little girl, kaso ay hindi talaga kami magkasundo ng kusina kaya sa food company nalang ako nagtrabaho.
“Sweetheart, it’s okay to be a little greedy sometimes. Remember that,” she chuckled.
She looked at me again, her eyes gleaming. “Anything else?” It was as if she was waiting for something.
I thought for a moment. “Maybe… a book of information about the world I’ll be reincarnated into?” I grinned, a little embarrassed.
But she pouted.
“Oh, come on…” she muttered. “Fine, I’ll take care of it.”
“Huh? What do you mean—?”
“Don’t worry,” she said, her voice becoming lighter, teasing. “I’ll handle your wishes. But let me add a little something of my own. A surprise. I promise you’ll love it.”
“What surprise!?”
“You’ll see,” she winked.
And then, light.
A golden glow started to envelop my entire being, warm, gentle, like I was being reborn in light itself.
“You deserve this new life,” she whispered softly.
I looked at her, memorizing every detail of her face. I didn’t want to forget. Not even a second of this.
“Don’t forget about me, okay?” she said.
And as the light swallowed everything, I saw her mouth move one last time
“Rytsas iā morghūljagon.”
“Wait!” I screamed.
