I didn't sleep well that night; something felt off.

The strands of my last conversation with Calypso played repeatedly in my head. This whole time, I had been trying to tell her it wasn't a good idea for her to come and that I was done with her.

But she couldn't seem to understand that I didn't like her anymore.

"I'm leaving! Are you coming with me or not!?!" She had yelled, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at my face.

I caught it harmlessly and sighed, "Don't make me choose between you and her."

I didn't like Calypso anymore; she'd hurt me too many times, but I didn't want to shun her.

"Why? Cause you'll choose her?" her face began to crumple.

I didn't even hesitate to answer.

"Yeah, I'll choose her; you and I? We're friends, Calypso. Nothing more. I've moved on, (Y/n), she-. She means a lot to me. So yeah, I'll choose her; I'll choose her over and over again."

That's when I realized I meant it. I truly did; I liked (Y/n) so much that it hurt to be away from her.

But she'd been avoiding me.

I sat up off my bed and shuffled out of my tent. The first thing I noticed when I came outside was that Calypso's tent was already gone, and there was no sign of her like she hadn't really been here at all.

The second was the nasty glare I was getting from Melog. I wasn't sure why, but it was freaking me out.

Her eyes seemed to track me wherever I went, like some creepy old-time painting, but I wasn't looking for her; it was (Y/n) I needed.

I spotted her; her hair was tucked up into her hat, which I really didn't think she needed since she produced coldness every time she used her powers. She was trying to stuff a silver coat into her bag.

I walked up, unsure.

"Hey, (Y/n)? Can I talk to....you?" I trailed off, something was different, a small strand of white was sticking out beneath her knitted fabric.

White?

"Are you okay?"

She looked up at me with her intense blue eyes.

"Please, don't make this worse than it already is, Leo," she whispered, her voice cracking.

Oh gods. I'd made her cry!

My heart dropped.

"Then why are you avoiding me?" I asked timidly, ignoring the flickering tension in the air.

Her eyes hardened, turning to fire, and I swear the air around us grew colder.

"Because.....because I'm falling in love with you, okay! That's why I'm avoiding you." She snapped, shoving her coat into her bag and trying to brush past me.

I did not expect that.

Moving without thinking, I grabbed her wrist, which was not the smartest move, I know.

She whipped around, tears glistening in her crackling eyes.

"Let. Me. Go."

Even in the beginning, I had never heard her say anything this hostile. I didn't want to; as soon as I would, she'd leave, but I also didn't want to be another person she was scared of having contact with.

Especially since she had seen her uncle no less than three days ago.

I released her wrist but stepped in front of her, blocking her path.
