(TW: Flash Backs of Uncle, Mentions of Abuse.)

The darkness didn't last as long as I expected.

I opened my eyes to find myself standing in my uncle's apartment, in a much younger version of myself.

The hair that fell around my shoulders was the colour of pearly ivory, and as I passed down the hallway, I caught sight of two golden eyes in the reflection of the picture frames.S

uddenly, the world tipped, and I found myself slammed against the yellow wallpaper. My uncle had me pinned against the wall and leaned in, pressing his lips on my cheek.

I managed to push his face off mine, my heart beating erratically.

It was happening all over again.

"Gus, stop! Don't touch me!" I yelled, but no one could hear me, "Please.."

I begged, tears falling from my face.

I wished it would be over.

"S-stop!"

If only I'd taken Delilah up on her offer to walk me back, why did I have been so upset? She was covering for me.

"Don't!"

Thick tears fell from my lashes as I sobbed.

I broke my hand free, feeling my fingertips brush the top of a picture frame above me when suddenly I felt a weight lift off of my chest.

(TW: End)

I lost balance and crumbled to the floor, trying to catch my breath.

I was just a kid; how could this be happening to me?

I felt someone's strong arms wrap around me, and a voice called my name.

"(Y/n), you're okay."

I looked up to see an older girl, maybe 18.

She kind of looked like me, but with dark brown hair and a streak of pearly silver. Her eyes were blue, with flecks the color of gold.

She smiled and I thought of where I had seen it before, her lips curving in a familiar upwards tilt.

The girl gathered me up into her arms, hugging me tight to her orange shirt.

"You're going to be okay, (Y/n). Trust me," The girl mumbled into my hair as she smoothed it back with her hand.

I started to cry.

How would she know if I'd be okay? She didn't know what it had felt like.

I felt her own tears soak into my shirt as she gripped me tightly.

The world spun again, and the girl vanished, leaving me falling into the darkness. I clutched my knees tight to my chest as I fell.

"I don't want to go back," I mumbled, hugging myself tighter.

"Too bad," A voice rang out through my mind.

I lifted my head; I was still alone in the darkness.

"A-achelois?"

"You have to return (Y/n). The world needs you."

"I-i can't. I've failed them."

I heard her gentle laugh echoing around my head.

"How did you fail them?"

I wiped at my cheeks, "I couldn't do it. I couldn't beat Lucas."

I heard footsteps behind me and watched as the rounded woman suddenly appeared. She made her way to me, pulling me into a hug.
