"I'm thinking of the Cave and Basin National Historic Site."

"How come?"

"Well, I mean, it's got a cave and a hot spring; it's the most obvious place for an entrance to the underworld."

"Are you sure I mean-"

Nico and Will's voices began to jumble together as I picked apart Leo's fries.

He and Liam had been gone for at least half an hour, and I was starting to get worried. Either something had happened, or one of them had fallen in.

My fingers began to drum against the table, my leg bouncing.

The five of us had finished our food and were waiting for the others. Harley and I had gotten up about twenty minutes ago in search of climbing supplies.

Of course, we'd found the store we were looking for, and Rupert was friendly as always.

We had supplies and a rough idea of where we were going; now, all we needed was for our two village idiots to stop messing around and get back.

"(Y/n)," Nico said, gripping my elbow.

My head snapped up to see them all staring at me, "Sorry, uh-what were you saying?"

Nico sighed and sat back in his chair. Will's hand crept across the table and briefly touched mine,

"They'll be okay," I nodded, trying to shake the idea that something terrible had happened out of my head.

My two best friends were gone, and I didn't know if they were coming back.

"I had asked what your thoughts were about this?" Nico said, pointing to a blob on the map titled Cave and Basin National Historic Site.

I looked up, "Are you sure he'll be there?"

The son of Hades nodded.

"Like 85% sure."

"I'll take that, it's our best shot."

I picked up another one of Leo's french fries.

The rest of my friends looked apprehensive, especially Harley. Not only was his brother missing, but also the person he looked up to.

I got up from the table, throwing my satchel over my shoulders; this was getting ridiculous.

"Where are you going?" Nico asked, turning in his chair.

Melog read my mind before I could even answer.

"We need to stay together," She mumbled.

I was about to respond when suddenly I felt a sort of palpitation. My heart started to beat wildly, and my spine shot up with pain, just like it had done every time something terrible happened.

I wobbled forward and gripped the side of the table to keep myself upright.

Will and Nico exchanged a look of concern.

With pained difficulty, I straightened myself up.

"Somethings wrong-"

Suddenly, a blur rounded the corner.

Leo sprinted towards us, his face on the verge of a breakdown. He kept double-checking over his shoulder as if something was following him.

He ran smack into me, sending us sprawling backwards into the table.

Leo scrambled to his feet and grabbed my arm tightly, his fingers digging into my flesh.

"We need to go now!"
