Coffee and vanilla.

Hyunji inhaled the familiar scent as she rinsed out the shampoo in her hair. Turning around she looked at her boyfriend, watching as he put on the same sugar scrub she had at home.

"I knew you smelled like my sugar scrub before!" Hyunji said.

"Look, I couldn't find a manlier scent. Once I used it at your house I realized it does wonders for my skin." Jungkook replied.

"It mixes perfectly with your cologne."

"Thank you."

"So when your mom bought me the sugar scrub and body wash did she get you any?"

"Hyunji, I swear to god-"

This is certainly the best birthday ever. Hyunji thought.

Hyunji looked at the mess on her bed. Her gifts were spread about and she couldn't help but smile. It felt nice to have a birthday party, though she wished her parents could've been there, but of course that wasn't possible.

Jungkook had bought her a matching working out set from one of her favorite brands and she couldn't wait to wear it on one of her morning walks. The purse he saw her set eyes on a few months ago was now in her possession. Lastly, a gift set from a skincare company now sat on her bathroom vanity waiting to be used. He got her a few other small gifts and she loved every gift. Eunji purchased a few pairs of silver earrings, knowing Hyunji's been wanting some different jewelry. Taehyung made a photobook with a collage of pictures of Hyunji, Jungkook and of course a few of Jay too.

Jay's head perked up as Hanuel walked down the hallway. Hyunji quickly put the cards from Jungkook and the one from his parents under her pillow.

"Hey, Ji." Hanuel walked into the room. "Where did you get all this stuff?"

"Tae, Yuri, Jimin and Eunji." Hyunji replied.

It sucked to have to leave out the one she loved the most, Jungkook.

Her mother looked puzzled before she spoke. "Right, it's your birthday. Work has been so busy all the days blend together."

Hyunji softly smiled, trying to pretend like it didn't sting.

"Starbucks gift card, one of your favorites." Haneul tried to make conversation.

"Yeah, Jimin got it for me. . ."

"Why don't we go out for dinner tomorrow? It's the weekend, so it should be less hectic with work."

"Yeah, it sounds good." Hyunji said, running her fingers through her hair.

"I thought you said you just got home a few minutes ago?" Hanuel questioned.

"I did."

"Your hair is still wet."

Shit, I should've used Jungkook's hair dryer.

". . . Yeah I just took a quick shower." Hyunji lied.

"And put on leggings and a hoodie instead of pajamas?" Haneul raised her eyebrow, crossing her arms across her chest.

Haneul knew Hyunji was lying, she wasn't very good at it. The question though was why?

"Yes, I took Jay out." Hyunji replied, that was the only thing she said that was true.

It was getting more and more obvious the lies Hyunji told. But, what else could she do tell her mom she took a shower at her boyfriend's house?
