Hyunji sat on the couch, her legs draped on Jungkook as they ate lunch together. It had been some time since Jungkook came over, Hyunji didn't want to risk it when her parents were still mad at her. She didn't exactly have their permission to have him over. . . But what they didn't know wouldn't hurt them, right?

They were barely on board with her having a boyfriend, let alone him being at the house when they weren't there. She would say Eunji is chaperoning, but Eunji wad probably fucked Tae in her room more times than you could count. Haneul knew they would cover for each other in a heartbeat. Either way that was a bridge they would cross another time.

"Sooo.... I have a question to ask you." Jungkook started.

"Yes." Hyunji replied, a big grin on her face.

"What if I'm about to say something crazy? I was really going to ask about winter break. I wanted to go to my aunt's beach house. We could just hang there for a few days, alone. But I know everything that's been going on with your parents so if you're not up for it-"

"That's a great idea. That's exactly what I need to be honest."

"Good."

He cupped her face before leaning in to share a long kiss with his girlfriend. He couldn't wait for their little weekend get away.

"Yes, we can get lunch right after. Sounds perfect, I'll see you saturday." Hyunji got off the phone with Areum.

"What's saturday?" Haneul asked as she walked into her daughter's room.

Haneul thought now that Jungkook was out in the open Hyunji would be more open about her plans. That wasn't the case.

"Homecoming is next week and I need to get a dress. Kook is gonna meet me at the mall and his mom might tag along." Hyunji said, weary of her mothers response.

Hyunji had never gone to any of the school dances. Her parents would likely have said no and she didn't have anyone to go with either so she never asked. This year was her last chance of a somewhat "normal" highschool experience.

"You didn't ask me if I wanted to go." Haneul replied, sounding offended.

"I doubt you even want me to go to the dance. You actually want to go dress shopping with me?" Hyunji raised her eyebrow.

"Yes, I want to go with you."

Hyunji picked up on her mothers behavior, her mom was feeling very left out. Haneul saw how involved Jungkook's parents were in their relationship, Hyunji was just like the daughter they never had. It was more obvious than Haneul thought that she was jealous of Areum's closeness with her daughter. Deep down Haneul wanted nothing more than to be involved in Hyunji's love-life.

"Ew, no." Hyunji cringed.

Haneul put back yet another rejected dress on the hanger as she sighed. She had forgotten how difficult her daughter was picking out clothes.

And I volunteered to come? Haneul thought.

While Hyunji sifted through the racks keeping an eye out for her boyfriend. Spotting his slender figure, her face lit up as she unconsciously smiled. Haneul couldn't deny the pure joy on her daughter's face every time she saw her boyfriend, Hyunji only smiled that bright when she saw him.

Jungkook grabbed Hyunji pulling her into a tight hug before kissing her.

"I missed you." He kept his arm around her waist.'
