Chapter 35

Becky and Mind sit in the tunnels for their break, both of them unusually quiet.

Mind is not the kind of person who gets easily paranoid, but when it comes to people she cares about, she might start questioning her life choices and herself.

She and Becky haven't really talked since Mind came back after staying the night out.

She doesn't know what happened since then. Is Becky mad at her? Does she think...?

Wait.

"Okay, why aren't you talking to me?"

Becky turns to her side and gives her a confused look, while she keeps chewing slowly her food.

"I'm eating."

"Huh, no. You've been distant lately, you barely look at me. Did I do something?"

She might sound like a clingy girlfriend right now, but she doesn't care. It's Becky, for God's sake.

"You didn't do anything, Mind." Becky sighs and moves her gaze on her food again.

"Is this because I spend too much time with Freen? Did she tell you I told her I liked her?! I meant as a friend! If you're mad at me because of that you could've just told me. You know I would never-"

Becky shakes her head and laughs. "Mind, I'm more than okay with you and Freen."

She doesn't know how it happened, but turns out Freen and Mind are now best buddies. It only makes her happy, atleast one of her friends gets along with her girlfriend.

Mind sighs deeply and goes quiet for a moment. She pouts, and Becky just keeps staring at her until Mind looks at the brunette again. "Then what is it?"

Becky puts down to the side her fork and plate and faces her friend. "You're ghosting him."

"I'm not ghosting him, Becky." She tells her rather harshly. "Look, I know he's going through something and I really want to be there for him, but he's not the only one who's having a hard time with this."

Becky nods in understanding and lowers her gaze. "You're right, I'm sorry. It's just..."

"I know." She whispers. "I miss him too, his usual cheery self but I've been trying to...adjust to this."

"I get that, yeah."

"But I miss you too, Bec."Becky gives her a sad smile and then puts an arm around Mind's back, bringing her close into a hug. Mind instantly melts into it and squeezes her eyes close, smiling happily into the hug. "I love you." Becky says.

"Oh, there she is, what's with you and your boyfriend trying to steal my girl?"

The girls break the hug and look in the direction of the door, seeing Freen walking towards them.

"Hi babe!" Becky smiles widely and opens her arms to welcome her girlfriend.

"Don't babe me." She leans in to kiss Becky sweetly and then sits between the two girls.

"What are you doing here, intruder?" Mind asks her.

"I was wondering how it feels to sit here. Now I know it feels like being a loser."

Both girls punch on her shoulders at the same time, causing her to shout in pain. "Ouch!?"

"You're the loser." Mind says.

"Fuck you."

"Watch your tongue babe." Becky warns her.

Freen gets closer and stares at her in a challenging way. "Why don't you take a close look at it?"
