"As I was saying, I just need the day off."

"Nope." Freen replied her eyes glued to the tablet in her hands.

"Huh?"

"I said no. You have a surgery scheduled for the evening. Who is going to do that? Me? Well I could have, except I'm not a cardiac surgeon. Am I?" Freen says, looking up from her tablet and fixing him with a glare.

"No. Maybe someone else could fill in. What about Richard?" Saint asks.

Freen leans closer to him, "Are you going to ask him?"

He gulps clearly intimidated by the action, "No."

Freen shrugs, "Well me neither."

Freen goes back to looking at her tablet, but when she sees him still unmoving she asks, "Is there anything else?"

He shakes his head before walking away.

Freen then walks back to her office, going through the schedule for the day in her tablet, as she walks by, she sees one of the nurses Alice approaching her, "Nope." She says without even sparing her a glance.

"I haven't even asked you anything yet?"

"You don't have to. It's a no." She stated, going about her way.

"Bitch." Alice mutters under her breath as she walks away.

"I heard that." Freen calls after the nurse.

"Hey!" Nam greets joining Freen by her side.

"Nam." Freen acknowledges before going back to her work.

"What's with the face?"

"What?"

"You're scowling." Nam stares at the woman.

"I'm not."

"Are the girls being too much?"

Freen immediately looks up from her tablet, "Why do you ask?"

Nam shrugs, "I'm just making conversation."

"They're good. They're literal angels. Besides, Becky's family is helping out. They are apparently taking turns between her parents and aunts looking after the girls." Freen replies sullenly.

"Is that why you're like this? Are you not getting enough time with the girls?"

Freen frowns, "Like what?"

"Like you're going to devour me any minute. You're being moody. You're snapping at people left and right."

Freen bursts out into immediate laughter.

"Now you're laughing, why are you laughing? I'm getting worried, what's wrong with you?"

"Nothing's wrong. It's the term. I was just thinking about a different scenario."

Nam's eyes goes wide as she realises the implication, "Ewww....how can you think about sex while talking to me?"

"It's all I ever think about these days." Freen mutters through gritted teeth.

"What?"

"You were not supposed to hear that." Freen retorts.

"Well I did. Now spit it out."

Freen sighed, "Fine. It's about Becky."

"What about her?"

"She's not looking at me that way anymore." Freen states as if it's obvious.

Nam remains oblivious, "What way?"

"Like she wanna devour me any minute."

Nam makes a gagging face, "Gross."

"Hey!" Freen whines, "It's been three months. I'm perfectly healthy now. I have even been taking double shifts these days. So why isn't she...you know....trying to..."

"Have sex with you?" Nam adds.

"Mhmmm." Freen hums releasing a long sigh.

"I don't know. Maybe this is a conversation you should have with her and not me. Did that thought ever occur to you?" Nam quips.

Freen sends her a glare, "Do you take me for a fool?"

"Yes. Sometimes. Especially when it comes to Becky." Nam states matter of factly.

"Obviously I wanna talk to her. But I'm just worried about what she might say." Freen says her cheeks flushed as she shook her head adamantly.

Nam looks confused for a minute.

"Oh shit! Is this part of your Postpartum depression or something?"

Freen scoffs annoyed, "Do I look like I'm depressed?"

"Freen, It's perfectly normal after giving birth to feel self conscious about your body or sex appeal or whatever."

"I'm not." Freen rolled her eyes as she states firmly.

"But what if Becky is?" Freen breathed out after a pause, her shoulders tight with tension.

Nam looks at her friend with compassion before her eyes catches on to something or rather someone, "Who is that with Becky?"

Freen whips her head around genuinely surprised and she sees Becky with a man, who seems close to her age, laughing and talking like they are bestfriends or something.

"I don't know. But do they seem too close, or is it just me?" Freen furrows her eyebrows looking at them.

Nam observes them for a minute, "Oh! I think they seem pretty close."

"You're not helping." Freen scowls.

"You asked."

Nam shook her head, "Stop acting like a jealous brat. You already got the girl. She's your wife, the mother of your children." She coaxed.

Freen sighs, "Maybe it's the hormones."

"Do you want my advice?" Nam asks.

Freen doesn't answer instead looks at her encouraging her to talk.

"How about you go over there and find out who that is? Also talk to the one person who can actually give you answers to your questions? Or better, a relief." Nam winks at Freen playfully.

"Get lost." Freen snaps before walking towards her wife and her nemesis, whoever that is.
