CHANGES
Lana's POV
I believe some people are just passing through our lives to teach us a lesson.
Although they leave, the memories we created with them, remain.
A few prefer to stay.
I know you would, but I didn't give you a chance to choose.
Sunod sunod ang mga dalot na nangyari sa buhay ko. Because of Paulo and Jessica's scheme, my friends, whom I thought were real, turned their backs on me.
"Isa-submit niyo na ba kay sir 'tong project natin? Sabay sabay na tayo---" I stopped when they all stood up and walked away from me. Umakto silang parang hindi nila ako narinig at nakita. Bumuntong hininga na lang ako at ngumiti pagkatapos ay magisa na akong nagpunta sa faculty room.
Wala ng ibang kumakausap sa akin nang maayos kung hindi si Felix lang. Most of them would even gossip loudly for me to hear. Ang ilan nga ay harap harapan na akong binabastos. Alam kasi nilang hindi ko sila pwedeng patulan. I was already suspended for five days. Kapag umulit pa ako, baka ma-expel na ako.
"Lana, ano ba! Nakailang practice na tayo sa routine na 'to, hindi mo pa rin talaga makuha? Sana kung gaano ka kagaling lumandi, ganoon rin ang binibigay mo sa sayaw natin!"
I clenched my fist as our cheerleading captain yelled like I was doing something horrible. Kuha ko naman ang mga steps kaya hindi ko gets bakit pinalalabas niyang palpak ako. It's obvious she was just mad at me because of the rumors. Kaibigan rin kasi ni Jess ang babaeng 'to kaya hindi na ako magtataka kung pinagiinitan ako.
"From the top!" sigaw niya kaya pumwesto na kami sa unang posisyon namin. "Lana, doon ka sa likuran." I was never placed at the back. Palagi akong nasa gitna o harapan.
"Sa likod daw 'pag cheater."
"Hindi nga daw siya cheater. One night stand lang yata nangyari sa kanila ni Kiel."
"Ah. Isang beses lang ba?"
Huminga na lang ako nang malalim at sumunod kahit na gustong gusto kong magprotesta. I danced again, this time with more energy, but our captain humiliated me once more.
"Lana, tanga ka ba? Bakit ba pamali mali ka? At bakit ganyan ka gumalaw, para kang timang! Ayusin mo!"
I was prepared to take all her nasty remarks in order to keep being part of the team, but she continued her ugly and offensive insults to the point that they began hurting me.
"Ang galing galing mong bumukaka para kay Kiel, 'di ba? Sana ipakita mo rin pagiging flexible mo sa sayaw natin!"
"Huy girl, over the line na 'yon."
"Tama na. Sobra ka na do'n."
