NEW SCHOOL
Lana's POV
This is where our romance started.
Almost all our firsts happened here.
"And that's it. What'd you think?" Malaki ang ngisi ni Eloise habang hinihintay ang sagot ko. Emma was also behind her, patiently waiting for my verdict.
"I love it! I love your school!"
"Now, it's your school too! Ahhhh!" Pumalakpak pa si Eloise at halos magtatalon.
"Congrats Lana and welcome to MDU!" Emma smiled.
I still couldn't believe all of this are happening. Laking gulat ko talaga noong natanggap ko ang email na pumasa ako sa scholarship program nila. I even cried because I was so shocked.
Nagbunga na rin sa wakas ang ilang taong paghihirap ko. My future looks more promising now that I'm going to be attending a prestige school here in Serenaville. Ta-target-in ko talagang maka-graduate dito!
"Thank you. Salamat din talaga sa pagengganyo mo sa akin."
"Aside from helping your studies, I also did it because it would benefit me. Kaysa magbyahe ako ng ilang oras palagi para lang maka-bonding ka, at least ikaw na ang nagpunta dito," She giggled. "Now you're just a few minutes away from us!"
Minsan nagtataka pa rin talaga ako kung anong nakita sa akin ni Eloise at tuwang tuwa siya sa akin. I only helped her once, at binigyan ko lang naman siya ng sanitary napkin. It's not even that important for her to treat me like this.
"Come on, let's check your dorm room!" She quickly held my hand and pulled me out of the building.
Manghang mangha ako sa laki ng campus nila dito. Mabuti na lang at binigyan ako ng private tour nila Eloise bago magsimula ang mga klase sa monday. Atleast hindi na ako maliligaw pa.
"Oh gosh. Why is it so small? Ganito ba talaga ang mga kwarto nila, Emma?" tanong niya sa pinsan niya.
"I don't know. I've never been here before..."
Inside were four double decks. Pero wala namang kama ang mga ilalim nito. But instead, it was replaced with cabinets.
May mahabang table din sa gitna na hati na sa apat. My roommates, wherever they are, already have their books stacked in there. Nakalagay na rin ang mga provided computers nila doon. Ang alam ko ibibigay nila ang akin mamaya. Iyon ang nakalagay sa isa sa mga papel na ibinigay nila.
Kapansin pansing ang pwesto ko na lang ang walang kalaman laman... I'd put some of my things there later.
Nagikot pa ako at napangiti nang makitang may sarili kaming balcony at CR.
"I think there's some mistake. You have no living room or kitchen here. Wala ding closet, myghad. Where will you change your clothes? Plus, they can't possibly expect you to share this small space to three other girls. Are they insane?" Eloise crossed her arms and even touched the tables, looking for a dust. Suminagot siya nang may nadumihan ang daliri niya. "I'm going to talk to our registrar. I'm sure they could give you a solo room---"
"No, I'm fine here. Tamang tama lang 'to sa'kin." Sa totoo lang, sobrang laki na nga nito. Mas malaki pa sa tinitirhan ko sa tenement. I am more than blessed to be staying here, for free.
