STUMBLING BLOCK
Lana's POV
Everyone has pressure, challenges, and troubles in their lives.
Some are merely beyond their control, while others are the outcome of their actions.
It is up to us to decide how to handle these obstacles.
You could call me stupid and a bit obsessed with Kiel for accepting his offer, but in all honesty, I could not be happier.
"Bub, the movers are on their way to our apartment. Medyo marami 'yung appliances at furnitures na dala nila. Patulong ka na lang kila Eloise at Tyler para ma-assist kung saan ilalagay ang mga iyon ha. I'm really sorry I couldn't help you right now."
Kiel's in New York at the moment. Sumakto ang alis niya sa araw ng paglilipat namin dito sa apartment. Initially, I was going to wait for his return but then I received a notice from the school that I should leave my dormitory room immediately. Ngayon na kasi ang last day of the month, at hindi na nila ako pinapayagang manatili doon ng ilang araw.
Kiel said I should just stay at the hotel in the meantime. Sa pamilya naman daw iyon ni Rios. Pero nahihiya kasi akong umabala ng ibang tao. Bukod sa wala akong pambayad, ayokong isipin ni Rios na nagte-take advantage ako sa friendship nila ng boyfriend ko.
Payag na rin naman sila Eloise na tumira kami dito kaya nagdesisyon na kaming lumipat na. Medyo hassle nga lang kasi hindi pala biro ang ganito.
"Akala ko ba sabay sabay tayong apat bibili ng mga gamit pagkabalik mo? Bakit nag-shopping ka kaagad?"
"I can't let you sleep on the floor, can I? Saan ka matutulog diyan, sa sahig?"
"E sana pala, kutson na lang muna binili mo. Uuwi ka na rin naman 'di ba?"
"My mom asked me to stay for one more week. Hindi ko nga maintindihan kung bakit, palagi naman sila umaalis ni dad. She's so clingy lately."
Ngumuso ako at nalungkot dahil matatagalan pala ang bakasyon niya.
"Anyway, you don't have to worry about anything. Everything that I bought was approved by Tita Ezie. Our living room set plus the washing machine were also her gift for us."
Napanganga ako ng bahagya sa gulat. Hindi pala talaga nagbibiro si Kiel noong sinabi niyang sobrang supportive sa kanya ng Tita niya. Talagang ayos lang din sa kanya na kahit bata pa kami nila Kiel ay titira na kami sa iisang bahay.
I didn't even tell my brother about this. Alam kong hindi siya papayag. Baka sumugod pa 'yon dito sa Serenaville kapag nalaman niya. But it's not like I'm going to do things that are out of the question.
"Your tita's so generous. Pasabi naman sa kanya, maraming salamat."
"Ikaw na ang magsabi, bub. She said she'd drop by soon. Gusto niyang makita ang place natin. Pagkauwi ko, dadalaw daw siya."
