BAREFOOT
Lana's POV
This is the kind of life I have always imagined...
You, me, and our babies together under one roof.
"Wiiii!!!"
My eyes fluttered open to the distant sound of light laughing, and the sweet aroma of bananas. The corners of my mouth tilted up as I recognized the giggles of my twin girls.
Dahan-dahan akong umupo at kinusot ang mga mata ko gamit ang kamay ko. Maliwanag ang araw sa labas kaya naman nasilaw pa ako nang bahagya.
Nakatulog pala ako dito sa sofa kagabi. Hindi ko na maalala kung anong oras kami natapos magusap ni Kiel. Ikinwento ko sa kanya lahat ng gusto niyang malaman sa bawat pictures at videos ng kambal sa phone ko. He attentively listened and asked questions, very motivated to get to know Makenna and Naiah more.
Hanggang sa inantok na ako at napapikit na lang yata. I even remember hugging him during my sleep... Or was I dreaming?
"We can even create mountains. See?" Nilingon ko ang kusina at natagpuan si Kiel na nakikipaglaro sa mga bata. Namumuti na ang mga apron nila pati na rin ang mga mukha nila. Flour was everywhere, and there are several banana peels laying next to a bowl.
I couldn't help but grin as I observed them. They made a huge mess on the kitchen, but it was a beautiful sight. Halatang nagkakasiyahan silang tatlo, lalo na ang mga anak naming sunod sunod ang hagikgik.
I savored the moment of admiring Kiel with our twins having fun the morning. I am incredibly happy that I have everything I could have ever wanted in front of me. It makes me feel like the luckiest girl alive.
"Mommy!" Makenna shouted when she noticed me. "Luto us!"
"I helped!" Naiah proudly said.
Kiel's eyes landed on mine as well. He was a bit startled that I caught him playing like a grade-schooler however a bright smile immediately followed.
"Very good naman ng mga babies ko." I approached my daughters and hugged them even though their clothes were dirty.
"Good morning, bub," Kiel greeted.
Ngumiti ako pabalik. "What are you guys making?"
"Banana pancakes," Kiel simply answered.
"Matatapos niyo ba 'yan ngayong umaga? Baka abutin na kayo ng tanghali niyan."
Kiel tried to hide the flour mountain that he created but I already saw it. Natawa na lang siya sa kalokohan niya.
"Ano ba naman kasing pumasok sa isipan mo at nag-decide kang magluto ngayong umaga?" asar ko habang tinitingnan ang gulong nangyari dito sa kusina. "Dinamay mo pa sila Makenna at Naiah."
He bit his lower lip and chuckled. "Isu-surprise ka sana namin pero nagising ka agad."
"Daddy kase, ingay!" Naiah pouted.
"You wake mommy up!" Makenna added.
"Aba, gan'on ha!" He tickled both of them and our girls ended up sitting on the floor, begging for their dad to stop. Hindi na sila makahinga kakatawa, nagpapadyak pa nga si Makenna habang si Naiah, sinubukang tumakbo palayo.
