Chapter 33

"I don't understand why you told me to wait here while you went inside." Dex said, his arms crossed as he looked over to see Fitz finally coming over to him.
Dex was stood by the lake, where Fitz asked him to wait.

Fitz had his hands behind his back and he brought them forward, showing that he had two towels. Dex furrowed his eyebrows as he met Fitz's gaze.
"Want to take a nice little dip into the lake?" Fitz asked.
"In the lake with my clothes on?" Dex questioned.
"No, of course not." Fitz rolled his eyes.

Fitz set the two towels down onto the grass and Dex raised his eyebrows.
"Well, I don't have swimming trunks so-" Dex began.
Fitz began to unbutton his shirt and slipped it off. Dex gulped as he watched Fitz take off his boots, then his socks. He then undid his pants, slipping them off and setting aside his clothes.
"Don't really need swimming trunks." Fitz grinned at Dex.

Dex looked at Fitz.
"You're insane. I don't have any extra clothes." Dex stated.
"I can lend you some clothes." Fitz shrugged.
"I have one pair of boxers, that are currently on me, and I don't think your boxers will fit me." Dex raised his eyebrows. "Nor do I think I want to wear your boxers."

"Fine, I guess I'll be alone in the water then!" Fitz said, first sitting down onto the grass before he slipped into the lake.
Dex watched as Fitz submerged himself into the water before he floated up, slicking back his wet hair before he grinned up at Dex.

"Is it nice and warm in there?" Dex questioned.
"Freezing, but it's fun." Fitz smiled, resting his arms against the grass, crossing them as he looked up at Dex.
Dex stared at Fitz.
"You don't have to join me." Fitz shrugged slightly. "But I could drag you in."
Dex bit his lower lip and he sighed.

"Y'know what? Fine." Dex said, undoing his own shirt.
Fitz raised his eyebrows and he grinned as he watched Dex begin to undress himself. Dex set his shirt aside, away from Fitz's clothes. He then took off his boots, then his socks and then finally his pants.

Dex felt a little awkward but he then lowered himself on the ground and he looked at Fitz who had backed away, floating in the water now.
"I hate you." Dex stated.
"You love me." Fitz smiled at Dex.
Dex waved Fitz to come over and so Fitz swam over in front of Dex.
"You want me to pull you in?" Fitz questioned.
"Just, pull me in gently." Dex clarified.

Fitz smiled as he gently placed his hands on Dex's waist and pulled him in. Dex yelped as he hit the cold water and instantly grabbed onto Fitz's shoulders. Fitz couldn't help but laugh as Dex was holding onto his shoulders tightly, clearly panicking.

"You're fine!" Fitz exclaimed.
"I am not fine! It's so cold!" Dex wailed, looking up at Fitz. "This is not very charming of you, Fitz!"
Fitz smiled as he leaned in, pressing their foreheads together.
"You're fine." Fitz stated, his voice soft.
Dex met Fitz's gaze.

"Why did you want to do this?" Dex questioned, tilting his head.
"Well, I thought it'd be nice to be in the lake without being shoved in it fully clothed, and plus, it's sort of romantic, no? In the lake, when it's dark, alone together." Fitz answered, his gaze resting on Dex's lips for a few moments.
Dex couldn't help but smile.
"Mmh, it's slightly romantic." Dex said, his arms now wrapping around Fitz's neck, clasping his hands together behind Fitz's head.

Fitz bit his lower lip as he leaned in closer to Dex, leaving a very small gap between their lips.
"You look really beautiful under the moonlight." Fitz whispered.
Dex felt his cheeks warm up, his heart began to beat faster and his stomach was churning from Fitz's words. Those feelings only grew as Fitz closed the gap between their lips and began to kiss him. Dex melted into the kiss, shutting his eyes as he titled his head to deepen the kiss.
