I offered her a small smile, and my cheeks turned red while I blushed. I didn't say a word and glanced to the side before I looked at her.

My heart grew warm and became filled with a little more hope than I had before she said something like that.

It was going to take time, but I was going to be able to do this in time...

"Have you ever been able to do them both at once?" Caroline asked and cocked her head to the side while she studied me, pressing her lips into a thin line.

"Sometimes," I replied and shrugged, with a small grimace on my face. "On occasion I have been able to control the water that is in the air and then heat it up until it is steam or vice versa."

"So you can do more than you are letting yourself believe, correct?" she asked and gave me a pointed look, and I couldn't help but laugh and nod in confirmation.

"Yes, I can do a little more than I let myself believe possible," I said and stopped once I had reached the middle of the creek and stood there before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet. "Ok, go ahead and stand in front of me," I said and gestured for her to do what I told her to do. "We are going to work on breathing and lifting the water with each breath."

Caroline nodded and furrowed her brows, pressing her lips into a thin line. "How do you want me to do that?" she asked and cocked her head to the side while she studied me.

"I am going to need you to stand with your feet at shoulder length and hands flat against each other as if you are praying."

Caroline nodded and did what I told her to do. She stood with her feet at shoulder length and hands flat against each other as if she were praying. She didn't say a word while she looked at me, waiting for me to tell her what else to do.

"So you are going to close your eyes and take a deep breath. When you take a deep breath in, you will raise your hands upward together. When you let it out with a small whoosh, you will push your hands down and let them move apart." I did what I wanted her to do, but I kept my eyes open for that.

Caroline slowly nodded and pressed her lips into a thin line. She didn't say a word and slowly blinked while she waited for me to tell her to do something else or to start doing it myself.

"Are you ready?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I studied her. "We can do that for a bit and then do something else."

She furrowed her brows and slowly nodded, biting the inside of her lip. "Ok," she said before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "Should we do something like meditating too? That's a thing, right?" She raised an eyebrow in question.

I bit back a small laugh before I slowly nodded in confirmation. "Yes," I said and rubbed my hands together. "Meditating is a thing. We can do that after we do water stuff if you want, or do you want to do this first and then meditate before we hop back into the water. I do not mind doing whatever it is that you want to do. We have time to do whatever it is that you want to do."

"Even though a part of you wants to do something else and not be here, right?" Caroline asked and raised an eyebrow in question while she studied me, and I bit back a small smile while I slowly nodded.

"That is correct," I said and rubbed my hands together before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet. "I want to get out of here and try to find a way home. I also want to see if there is a way to stop whatever crazy thing is happening when people shift into their wolf form."

"Do you think that you can shift?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question while she studied me. "I mean, have you been having the urge to shift into your wolf form?"

My eyes flashed to my wolf and pushed against the barrier that I set up around her, and I gritted my teeth and pulled my hands apart before I clenched my hands together. I bit back a small growl and closed my eyes, taking a deep before I released it with a small whoosh.

"Ky?" Caroline asked and a look of worry and hesitance appeared on her face. She took a step toward me and frowned, pressing her lips into a thin line. "Are you ok?"

I shook my head and gritted my teeth. "No," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet, biting back another growl. "I need to shift, but I can't do it here."

"Why not?" Caroline asked and furrowed her brows. "Why can you not shift here?"

I set my jaw and pressed my lips into a thin line before I offered her a grim smile. "Because it isn't safe," I said and shook my head before I cleared my throat while I shifted on my feet. "And they wouldn't take kindly to it."

Mainly Cooper...

Caroline furrowed her brows and slowly nodded. "Are you saying that Cooper wouldn't be the one comfortable with it?" she asked and cocked her head to the side while she studied me.

I bit back a small laugh and nodded, amused that she instantly knew that I was talking about Cooper. "Ya, I don't think he would be comfortable with it. I am sure that some of the others I have been in contact with would be fine with it but would be worried that I would do something dangerous and hurt them but more importantly you."

"Will you?" Caroline asked and furrowed her brows further with a small frown on her face. She looked around before she looked at me, and I could tell that she was getting nervous for some reason. "Will you hurt us if you shift into your wolf form?"

I offered her a small smirk and a wink without saying a word about it because I had no idea myself. I licked my lips and cleared my throat while I shifted on my feet before I placed my hands together while she looked at me, biting back a small frown as if she knew that I wasn't going to answer that question. "Come on and let's get started with this, Caroline," I said, with a shake of my head. "We'll figure that out at a later date because we do not need to worry about it right now."

I promise...
