Caroline furrowed her brows and slowly nodded. Worry flashed through her eyes, and I could tell that she didn't like the idea of my mother facing that when she was alive and well. "Do you think that it happened on this timeline?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "Do you think that she may have died with that guilt?"

I hummed and slowly nodded while I pressed my lips into a thin line. "I think so," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat. "I think she had died with that guilt, knowing that she was not able to save that person and then the other person that died before him."

I hesitated and looked at Fernos, who was nothing but a shadow man before I looked at her again. "I think she also died with the guilt of not being able to leave the Demon kingdom an heir to the throne after Fernos dies or he gets killed because of something that he did or did not do."

Caroline frowned and blinked before she blinked a second time, pressing her lips into a thin line. She looked at the shadow person of Ferons before she looked at me, and I could tell that she was confused about what I meant and why I said it like that.

I bit back an annoyed groan and rolled my eyes, pressing my lips into a thin line. "Please, tell me that you don't know that Ferons is supposed to be the Demon King," I said and sulked just a tad, and I couldn't help but pout. "Please, for all that is holy, don't tell me that."

"I... think it was mentioned once..." Caroline said and furrowed her brows, slowly nodding while she bit the inside of her lip. "But it is hard to imagine that he is the heir to the throne, especially with the way that the group treats him..." She cleared her throat and shifted in her seat, and her cheeks turned red. "It is also hard to imagine that he is a father, er, well, was..."

"Well, both happened or did happen," I said and shrugged with a small grimace on my face. "He is the Demon King, and we need to figure out a way to get him back to his throne so that the Demons can stop fighting each other and start fighting a common enemy, and he had a son, who is technically a year older than my brother, Jonah, but in Demon years, he is older by a lot."

Caroline furrowed her brows and bit the inside of her lip while she tucked her head closer to her chest. "How is he the Demon King in your timeline?" she asked and cocked her head while she studied me. "Is he any good?"

"Yes," I said and nodded in confirmation, and my heart became filled with pride for the man that I called my grandfather. "He's respected by many, including those in different species." I cleared my throat and licked my lips. "Now, what all do you want to do now?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I studied her.

Caroline furrowed her brows further and slowly nodded while she pressed her lips into a thin line. "Can we train?" she asked and cocked her head while she studied me. "Please? I think it's time that we do stuff so that we get you home..."

I bit back a small laugh and slowly nodded, and my heart became filled with pain and longing. "Sure," I said and nodded in confirmation before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat. "We can go ahead and do that. And for getting me home, I think it's going to be a lot longer than we could hope..."

"Do you think it could take a year?" she asked and cocked her head further to the side while she studied me, and I shrugged and grimaced, pressing my lips into a thin line.

"I do not know," I said and bit back a tired sigh while I moved a hand through my hair and across my face. "I hope not, but I don't think we know what fate has in store for us."

"But it'd be a shorter amount of time for you, right?" she asked. She furrowed her brows and cocked her head to the side while she studied me. "I mean, how long have you been here right now, according to the watch on your wrist?"

I bit back a tired sigh and looked at my wrist, pursing my lips in annoyance. "Four hours, I think," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted on the chair, biting back a small groan. "I've only been here four freaking hours, but it still feels like a lifetime."

Caroline bit back a small laugh and slowly nodded. She cleared her throat and shifted on her chair while she looked at the watch before she looked at me. "Do you think that the wounds on your back are healed?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "What if this is some sort of dream that you are going through?"

"I think it is healed by now," I said and shrugged with a small grimace on my face. My back seemed to act up just a tad, and I couldn't help but shift some more in my seat, biting back a small groan of pain.

Caroline frowned and furrowed her brows when she saw that I had shifted in my seat. "Are you ok?" she asked and looked at me. She cocked her head while she studied me, and the frown grew larger. "What's wrong?"

"My back acted up for some reason," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat, trying but failing to relieve some of the pain that I was feeling. I took a deep breath and released it with a small hiss, and my whole body grew tense. "It started to hurt, and I do not know why at all."

Caroline slowly nodded and furrowed her brows further together. "Do you think it has left a mark?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "I mean, you're a Werewolf, so it should have healed fully. Right?"

"I think it has left a mark," I said and shrugged with a small grimace on my face. "I do not think it has "fully healed" in a way that there is no mark on my skin. I wish that would have happened, but I am alive, so that is all that matters."

Caroline bit back a small chuckle and slowly nodded. "I'm happy that you are alive, though," she said, and her cheeks instantly turned red. "I don't know if I will be able to do this stuff without you."

I bit back a small laugh and slowly nodded. "I am happy that I am alive, too," I said. I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat while I rubbed my hands together. "I do wonder how they look, though," I said randomly while I cocked my head to the side. "I mean, I haven't seen them at all."

Caroline slowly nodded and pressed her lips into a thin line. "Do you want to see them?" she asked and cocked her head. "I can go ahead and lead you to the showers so that you can see them."

I bit back a tired sigh and nodded, moving a hand through my hair and grimacing when I felt how greasy it felt. "Ya," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat. "I think that would be a good idea, especially since I think I want to take a shower as well."

Caroline laughed and nodded. "I think I will go ahead and take a shower, too," she said. She cleared her throat and stood, licking her lips, and I stood from the chair that I was sitting on, biting back a small groan of annoyance. "After that, do you want to explore more parts of the camp? I don't think that you have seen everything. "Or can we go ahead and train?"

"We can train first," I said and bit back a small smile while I nodded, biting the inside of my lip. "But first, let's take that shower because I have a feeling that I do not smell the freshest that I could be, and I am surprised that no one has said anything yet." I flashed her a small smirk and a wink.

Caroline busted out laughing before she slowly nodded. She started to walk to the entrance of the tent, and I followed her with a small smile before it slowly turned into a frown when the thought of either Cooper or Andrei out in the open when we had to do stuff crossed my mind, and I couldn't help but feel tired and nervous about what was to come.
