At Ishika's house next day, we were baking cupcakes. The aroma of vanilla filled the air as Ishika expertly mixed the batter, her enthusiasm contagious. As we worked side by side in her cozy kitchen, memories of our high school days flooded back, especially the unforgettable farewell party.

Ishika glanced mischievously at me and grinned. "Hey Shriya, remember that heartfelt gesture Rohan made at the farewell party?"

I felt a blush creeping up my cheeks at the mention of his name. "Yeah, how could I forget?" I replied, trying to sound nonchalant.

Ishika chuckled. "Oh come on, Shriya, it was so sweet! You were practically glowing the whole evening."

I rolled my eyes, trying to mask my embarrassment. "Well, it was a nice gesture, I guess."

Ishika nudged me playfully. "Nice? It was romantic! I'm telling you, there's something special between you two."

I shook my head, laughing nervously. "I don't know about that. We're just school mates."

Ishika raised an eyebrow skeptically. "Sure, school mates who share lingering gazes."

I sighed, knowing she wouldn't let it go. "Okay, maybe there's a little something more. But let's focus on these cupcakes before they burn."

As we continued baking, our conversation drifted to lighter topics, but the mention of Rohan lingered in the back of my mind, stirring up a whirlwind of emotions.

"So, have you all made any decisions about where you want to go?" Ishika asked, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.

"I'm leaning towards studying psychology at Stanford. It's been my dream for as long as I can remember."  I said.  "And what about you, Ishika? Any ideas?"

Ishika smiled, her excitement evident. "I've been looking into art schools, particularly in New York City. I want to pursue my passion for painting and maybe even make a career out of it."

As we chatted late into the evening, sharing our hopes and dreams for the future, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the supportive friend by my side.
