As I sat at the dinner table, eating my food, my brother Jay couldn't resist teasing me about Rohan. I rolled my eyes, knowing that once he latched onto something, he wouldn't let it go.

"So, Shriya, how's Rohan?" Jay asked with a mischievous grin.

I groaned inwardly, not wanting to engage in this conversation yet again. "He's fine, Jay. Just leave him alone."

But Jay was relentless. "Come on, Shriya, spill the beans. Have you two been talking, or is it just all about the staring?"

I felt my cheeks flush with embarrassment.

Jay chuckled, shooting me a knowing look.

I shot him a warning glare, but he just laughed in response.

Our mother, who had been listening quietly, couldn't help but join in. "What's all this about Rohan?" she asked, looking between Jay and me.

I sighed, resigning myself to the fact that my brother had once again managed to embarrass me in front of my mother. "Nothing, Mom. Just Jay being his nosy self."

Mom shook her head, smiling. "Well, whatever it is, I'm sure it's nothing serious. Just enjoy being young and having crushes."

I nodded, grateful for her understanding. Sometimes, having an overprotective brother and a nosy mother could be exhausting, but deep down, I knew they only had my best interests at heart.

As we continued our dinner conversation, I made a mental note to have a serious talk with Jay about boundaries. But for now, I focused on enjoying the meal and the company of my family, knowing that no matter what, they would always be there for me
