"CAN I SIT WITH you guys?" alyra asked ron and hermione nervously as she walked towards the gryffindor table, she had been sitting alone at the hufflepuff table since the year had begun and just wanted to see if she'd be able to get a spot there

"yeah, of course." hermione smiled at her, moving down a little to give the girl room to sit beside her, "i'm not sure where harry is but, i'm sure he'll be in here soon enough. how's your hand?"

"it's alright, i guess." she shrugged, "can you leep a secret for me hermione?"

"what is it?" the girl asked in response, looking at the blonde

"i told professor mcgonagal about what umbridge did." she admitted to her friend, "don't tell harry, i'm nervous he'll get angry at me for it, as he didn't want to tell anybody."

"i'm sure he won't get angry at you alyra." hermione shook her head, "but i won't tell harry if you don't want me to."

"won't tell me what?" alyra cursed herself when she heard harry walk up behind them, she turned her head around and looked at him with no response, "what don't you want her to tell me alyra?"

"i— it's not important." the girl shook her head, harry went to say something more but was quickly cut off by professor umbridges voice outside the great hall, making the golden trio and alyra go out to check what was going on

"i am merely requesting that when it comes to the students, you confirm to the prescribed disciplinary practices." they heard mcgonagal say as they approached, alyra could feel harry's eyes on her and looked over at him to see his face form a look of some sort of anger at her

"so silly of me, but it sounds as if you're questioning my authority in my own classroom." the woman stepped up a stair before ending her words by saying, "minvera."

"not at all..." professor mcgonagal did the exact same thing, "delores. merely your medieval methods."

"i... am sorry, dear. but to question my practices is to question the ministry." professor umbridge spoke at the other woman, who looked quite angry to say the least, "and by extension, the minister himself. i am a tolerant woman but the one thing i will not stand for is disloyalty."

"disloyalty." mcgonagal nodded slowly as she stepped down a stair, umbridge stepped up as if she had some sort of power over everyone before she spoke towards the students now

"things at hogwarts are dar worse than i feared cornelius will want to take immediate action."

after the two professors had done, most of the students had walked back to the hall, besides alyra, harry, ron, and hermione.

"did you tell mcgonagal?" harry asked, the expression he had on his face unmoving as he looked at her. the upset look in his eyes made alyra want to die on the spot

"i did but i—" she tried but he cut her off

"why would you do that!?" he asked in a harsher tone, "you knew i didn't want dumbledore to be told, that really means i didn't want any of them to. you knew that alyra!"

"i'm sorry, i— i was just trying to help." she felt some tears form in her eyes when he shouted at her, "i thought if i told her, then it wouldn't have to happen to other students, i just wanted to help."

"well, you're not!" he voice was loud as he yelled at her, seeming to not care tjat a couple tears fell from her eyes as he did so, "you're not helping! you're just making everything worse!"

"i didn't mean to, i'm sorry." her voice was quiet as she spoke to him, hed never yelled at her before, and now he looked so mad at her and she didn't know what to do about it
