After patching up my wound, Nikolai takes me back to his house. I protest at first since Selene also lives there but I'm not really in a position to be making demands. Even still, he promises me that he'll keep me safe and if he sees Selene he'll sort her out. He also made the valid point that I have no where else to stay.
I find comfort in the fact that he has a lock on his door and he normally keeps his room locked. He will be the only one that can get in and out and he has just saved my life.
He obviously still feels a little something from the time we shared when my memories were wiped. He still cares even if it's only a little bit.
"You ok over there Blue?" He asks while I'm sat on his bed, my back resting against the headboard. I'm lost in a spiral of my own thoughts.
"No." I state, not wanting to elaborate out of fear of sounding like a crazy person.
"What's up?" He asks.
"I don't know what to do." I admit.
"Rest, you need to heal."
"That's not what I mean." I tell him. My eyes stray from his. "I don't know who I am anymore. I thought I knew who I was, I thought I was a good person on the right side of history but I'm not. Everything was just lie and Liam, all he did was lie too. I don't know what's real anymore. I don't know who I am if not a superhero. And I have nobody to talk to, nobody who cares if I live or die. Since breaking up with Liam I've realised any friends I had were his friends. I'm now realising he was emotionally abusive and he drove me away from my adoptive parents." I rant.
"You were adopted?" Niko asks, intrigued.
"Yeah but it was hard getting used to a whole new planet." I state. "I moved around a lot." I continue.
"A new planet? What?" He says, confused out of his mind.
He doesn't know.
"I'm an alien." I state. "Technically." I add. "Since it's a term for any life force outside of earth. I'm not a monster or anything. At least that's what I would've told you a few days ago. I'm practically the same as a human apart from the superpowers."
"You don't need a ring to access them, do you?" He questions?
I shake my head. "Do you want me to tell you a secret?" I ask.
He narrows his eyes. "What?" He asks, suspicious.
"Your ring and the other ones alike are forged from broken pieces of my throne back in lavanem."
"I've never heard of lavanem before, I'm assuming it's your home planet?" He asks.
"Yeah."
"And you were royalty?"
"The crown princess." I tell him. "Until my planet was destroyed and I was sent here." I state. I don't know why I'm telling him this, barely anyone knows about it. I think it's because he actually listens to me and is genuinely curious.
