I lived with Liam for years. I know his habits, I know his patterns. Whether I like it or not, I know him.
I turn around and leave the apartment. The door slams shut behind me and I continue walking away.
"Where are you going?" Ruelle asks as the 5 of them try to keep up with my quick pace.
"To find Liam." I state.
"He wasn't there?" Jameson asks.
"Nope."
"Do you know where he is?" Niko asks.
"No, but I have my ways."
"What's that supposed to mean?" Niko asks, sprint walking to step in line with me.
"I don't know where he is or where he's staying, but I know where he will be in an hour."
It takes approximately 5 minutes for us to reach the store.
"A video game shop?" Niko asks, clearly confused.
I point at the gigantic poster, displaying part 2 of Liam's favourite game. He's been waiting and wanting to come here for months. There is no way he'd miss the release.
There's no line outside the shop waiting to get inside, it's prohibited but I know for a fact he'll be here as soon as it's allowed.
"So now what do we do? We can't just wait here." Josh states.
"Waiting around the corner isn't illegal." Niko states and we run with his idea. I don't doubt he has a loophole for everything.
We stand around the corner, keeping watch for around 20 minutes before the doors to the shop are open and people start filtering in.
Through the crowd, I spot him.
"I'm going in. He's here." I tell the others.
I casually walk into the shop after him, and a few other people enter.
He stops and I do the same. I keep my distance as he picks up the game. He turns and his eyes meet mine. I notice his eyes widen slightly as the sight of me. He stands in place, unsure of what I'm going to do.
I take a few steps forward and notice he how he gets slightly nervous.
"I'm not here to fight." I tell him.
He narrows his eyes slightly in apprehension. "Then why are you here?" He asks.
"I just want to talk." I state. I take some cash out of my pocket, enough to pay for his game. "Here," I say, handing it to him "as a gesture of good faith." I explain.
He cautiously takes the money before paying for the game with it. Once he's bought it, he stuffs it in his backpack before we leave the store together.
"So what do you want to talk about?" He asks, breaking the silence.
