It all started with a superhero, one who vowed to help save the world and use her powers for good....But how can one keep a promise if they don't remember making it?
What happens when the lines to right and wrong blur? When promises have to be broke...

"Emma?"
The girl turns around and I'm correct in my assumption.
It is Emma.
I don't know how but she's standing right in front of me.
She looks the exact same apart from her roughened state and blood-stained clothes and face.
"How?" I ask, at a loss for words.
She holds up her hand and brings our attention to the ring.
"I know it's freaky, but I think this brought me back to life." She states.
"Are you hurt?" I ask, walking over to her.
"No." She says, lifting her top enough so we can see her stomach. There's dry blood but no wound.
I run up to her and hug her tightly.
Happy tears form in my eyes.
I didn't think I was ever going to see her again. I was devastated. I'm so happy that she's back.
"So what?" Niko says. "The ring just brings you back to life?"
"I honestly have no clue. That's the only explanation. I remember dying and then I was just back alive again, only this time I was alone. I honsetly wouldn't have believed it, it felt like a fever dream but I was covered in blood and laying on the floor. The ring is the only reasonable explanation I have."
"Thank fuck I forgot to take it off you." Niko admits.
"I don't know how it works, but with the ring I think you might be immortal." I state.
"I don't know but I'd rather not try it again. It was fucking horrible and waking up from it was just as bad."
"Are you ok now?" I ask.
"Yeah, I'm good now. I just feel a bit icky from the blood and weirded out. I'm tired also, but I generally feel normal." She states. "So apart from me dying, how did today go? Did we win?"
"It went alright. Apart from you dying, that was rough for all of us."
"Did you speak to the prime minister?" She questions.
"Yeah." I say, not knowing how to explain this without explaining this. I also don't want to lie to her if I can help it. "There's going to be a reelection."

A few days pass by and the group of us return to our newly found normal.
Our side knows about our victory but not the means we used to get there. The news hasn't yet reported on the death of Prime Minister Duncan which means the rest of the world is oblivious.
I can understand that it would take a while for the news to come out. The prime minister dying is a big issue and there are probably a hundred different measures that need to be taken before it's announced.
