I'm sat alone in a room in the government secret bunker, trying to distract my thoughts from what Niko is currently doing.
All of a sudden, there's a small flash of light and Talia is standing in front of me.
I immediately stand up in shock.
"You're not meant to be here." I state.
"I know. I didn't mean to be. I was just worried about Ella and then poof, I'm here." She states. I look at her sceptically. "I don't really know how to control my powers. I swear it was an accident." She explains.
"Just go back."
"Um...about that...I don't really know how to."
I bury my face in my palm.
Ella said Talia wasn't the best with her powers but I didn't know that meant she would teleport by accident and wouldn't be able to go back. What if she teleports to the North pole or something?
"Right, we need to get you out of here." Or Ella will go fucking crazy.
At least I'm the best person Talia could teleport next to. I can keep calm while still protecting her.
"I agree. Preferably before I get grounded for life."
I don't really know how you ground someone who can teleport but it doesn't matter what her motives for leaving are as long as we get her out and back to somewhere safe. Or as safe as places get these days.
We make our way out of the bunker. We come across some stray guards as we're leaving but I take them down without a second thought.
When we walk out of the cave and into the woodland area, I see Ella in the near distance.
Oh fuck.
Talia and I must have the same idea because we both turn around so Ella can't see our faces and hopefully doesn't recognise us.
"What is going on right now?" Her voice booms through the crowds chatter that seems to quiet down when she speaks.
Oh shit. We've been caught.
We both slowly turn around to face her.
"Hi Ella." I say sweetly with a soft smile.
"Why is Talia here, Maliah?" She asks, directing her question at me.
"I kind of accidentally telleported here." Talia says quickly.
Ella turns her gaze to me, wanting me to corroborate her story.
"She kind of accidentally telleported here." I confirm. "She appeared in front of my eyes and looked kind of freaked out. I honestly think it was an accident. She agreed to leave the building straight away and we did."
"Are you ok?" Ella asks Talia, her tone and face softening.
"I'm good." She responds.
"Thanks for asking how your best friend is doing." I say sarcastically.
