"I'm Aquamarine." I state.
A mere two words that can change the trajectory of many lives, or so I hope.
Everyone in the room freezes, keeping deathly still and I can feel the whole world go silent in anticipation of what I'll say next.
It's safe to say they weren't expecting that. None of the people here, not even the host, knew what I was going to say. I told them I had an exclusive about Aquamarine with video evidence to back up my claim. I don't have video evidence that I'm Aquamarine, but I can sure as hell make some.
"If you are Aquamarine, why would you be telling us?"
"Because the world is at stake. I have always and will always put people's safety above all else." I state.
"How can we trust that you are actually Aquamarine?" She asks and rightfully so. She has no idea who I am and thus no reason to trust me.
With the teapot on the table separating us, I pour a glass of water. I hold it up so that the camera can see before using my mind to levitate it.
Gasps are heard throughout the whole studio and I'm sure even more are heard throughout living rooms right now.
"Oh my God." The presenter says, shocked out of her mind.
I use my hand to guide the water back down and into the glass.
"You're really Aquamarine." She states.
"I am." I assure her. "I'm sure many of you have seen the wanted posters with my face on but I'm here to tell you none of the things on that poster are true." There must be at least one person here that's called the police on me and there must be at least one person from the government watching this right now but I'm not scared of a fight, not when it's on my terms.
"There are a lot of things that need to be brought to light involving the government." I continue. "Much like you, I thought that they were the good guys, but it turns out that I was wrong. They're hurting people, caging and experimenting on them. They've deceived us time and time again. The speculation that I was born on a different planet is correct and while I know that might raise some concern for a lot of you, I assure you I'm a good person. I've spent the last 8 years here on earth and I've had good days when I felt like I was on top of the world and bad days where I felt like the world was ending. I came here wanting to help people after I thought my planet was destroyed. The pain of losing everything that I loved was insurmountable, so I came here with the mission to help people. My first mistake was trusting the government. Even as one of their greatest assets, they experimented on me and treat me less than human. They used me to stop people challenging them, to keep people in line, and I followed them, blindly, and for that, I am sorry."
I let a beat pass before continuing. "Even still, I have helped to keep this planet safe. Whether it be from a burning building or people seeking revenge with intent to hurt people. A lot of people shy away from the subject of a group that call themselves the Rebels. But after getting to know some of them, I've realised they're not all as bad as they're portrayed by the government and media to be. With everything that's been happening recently, it's important with whom people stand." I state. "I don't condone the actions of the government, but I also don't condone the actions of the Rebels and their leader, Hael Graves. They each have different motives, different values, and morals. I don't claim to know them, nor do I want to." I continue. "But what I want is a better, more peaceful and free world. Neither group had that, so I made my own. Freedom doesn't come without struggle, so I could really use your support. There's a war coming and I just want everyone to be safe. The government gave you this." I say, taking the wanted poster out of my bag and looking directly at the camera as I speak. I crumple up the piece of paper after showing it for a second and toss it away. "But I literally came from another planet to help you and I have proved my worth and my capability time and time again. Put your trust in me, because by telling you my identity, it shows that I sure as hell have trust in you." I tell the audience. "Thank you for listening to my very long speech. That will be all folks." I state before walking off the set.
