Why does everything have to lead to war?

I unwillingly moved to earth to avoid being part of the war on my planet only to be right in the middle of another.

I tried to side with the government to prevent war but they are the ones trying to start it. Everyone else is just trying to fight back.

I was just a kid when I got sent away from my planet, now I'm older and I can fight back.

I vowed to protect this planet. At first I thought that meant from the Rebels, but now I know the real danger and I'm going to make sure everyone else does too.

Most people are in the dark to the government's true motives, but I plan to shed light on what they're doing behind closed doors.

I won't let another planet I love be destroyed, not if I can help it.

I'm going to fight for what I believe in, just like my parents always taught me.

With all the madness going on, I haven't thought about this supposed portal recently. This fight feels more urgent, but since we're going to be heading in the same direction, maybe it's a good time to think about it.

I don't have a clue what it would mean for me if there was a portal back to my planet. I didn't even think it was a possibility, but now there's an endless possibility of what ifs.

My past is there, but I've built a life here.

Are my parents still alive? My friends? My family? Are all my favourite places still standing? My home? My school? The ice cream parlour I used to go to as a kid? How about my people, are they ok?

Did the bad guys take over?

How is the planet still standing? Is it still standing? Or does the government have it wrong?

Could I be searching all my life for something that doesn't exist? Am I trusting the government too much by giving them my hope based on their word alone?

.....yeah this is why I choose not to think about it or I end up on spiral city.

"I don't think we should go today." Niko says as we're all gathered together in one of the hotel rooms. "I think we should stay here one more night."

We all woke up late after the long night and it's bound to get dark soon.

Everybody agrees to continue our journey tomorrow. I honestly don't blame them. With everything that's been going on, we haven't had time to rest properly. Here just feels safe. Nobody knows who we are. Nobody is out to get us....or so we hope. While the others may be relaxing, I'm still keeping a watchful eye out.

I would've preferred if we had gone today. I'd rather get this over and done with and who knows what torture the kidnapped Rebels have been subjected to.

"I'm going to bring the car along." Niko says. "So we're ready to go tomorrow."

I'm just glad a few people in this town have cars so we don't stick out too much.
